In Between

In Between : Lost , die and run

We looked around us and realized that we are lost . We tried to ask questions to the strangers around us . But it seems that they don't wanna talk . And they looked like snatchers and strange . A little later our stomach starts to groan . We we're hungry and starving .

  But then a man came to us I can't recognize his face but I can see that it was man because of his voice .

  “ Samantha , what are you doing ? ”

    I recognize the voice . It was Red Stewart talking to us . Then my sight suddenly came clear . And my stomach stopped to groan . I stood up and I saw him kneeling towards me . But he suddenly changed , he stand up and stares at my eyes .

    “ Red , why are you here ? ” I asked him of course because he was poppin' out somewhere always . No actually , everytime I need help .

    “ Just my mom , she just want me to buy her favorite cookies but she was already dead . ” He sounded awful and horrible . While saying those words .

     “ Oh I'm sorry , well that baker is like our family . What I mean is that ,  she was baking cookies that we already used to eat since I'm grade 1 and you're grade 5 . ” I reply but I was a bit surprised . I mean this baker is one of the witness of our history .

      “ Why are you here ? ” Red asked me but then we heard a gunshot . We start panicking and worrying .

      “ What do we do samantha ? ” Lizzie asked me but I don't know what to say . Even if I want to , I can' t . Because I can't promise what I can't make it happen .

     “ Okay , we can run but we can get shot . I forgot that there is gonna be a large riot today  . It is starting now . Are you ready ? ” He replied and looked at me . Like he was worrying to me .

     “ Is there other way to escape from here ? ” Lizzie reacted and trying to escape from her fear which is die running and be the first to die instead her parents .

      “ Liz , there is no other way . But I promise that our parents would know about this . I can promise you that . ”  I said to Lizzie and looked at Red .
“ Now we're gonna need to run , are you ready ? ” I asked but I already start to run then Liz then Red. 

     We run together and headed straight to the cafe . We talked to each other and lasted for 20 minutes . I notice that Red was having fun talking to us. 

   “ Oh,  look at the time . It is already 5:00 pm,  I think I should go  , bye girls.  ” Red say goodbye then he catch cab .

     Anyway I was ready to go , so I catch a cab with Lizzie  . We we're talking again but this time it is different.  It is about the party. 

     “ By the way,  is there any boys there ?  ” Lizzie asked as if she wasn't  panicking to the last hours. 

   “ Yeah,  but they were like a brother to me.  ” I replied to what she says.  I raised my left eyebrows like I was so irritated  to Lizzie  .

   “ But you and Joshua. ” Lizzie was trying to have an excuse to what she says but I was not gonna win anyway .   She is so stubborn  . So I just stop to explain to her.  She always find excuse to her actions. 

    “ Okay,  goodbye  . See you tomorrow  ! ” As soon as I saw my house.  The cab stops so I open the door and run towards my house. 

    The cab goes as I start to run towards to my house . Then I suddenly think blank and stares at the door.  I don't know what happened but I was just empty. 

  2 hours later .  .  .

   “ Thank God,  you're okay.  ” Mom said and looks worrying.  So I tried to reply. 

   “ Why , is there something happened?  ” I asked all of them.  They were all acting strange. 

   “ Nothin' but we thought you were in danger!  ” Ali said normally and I still don't know what they're thinking. 

   “ But why do you need to worry?  ” I asked them but they looked frightened. 

  “ Well , it was just because you were so behind to come back here  . We sent you to our house like 4 hours ago!  ” Ali explained while she raises her left eyebrow and her eyes were staring at my eyes. 

   Anyway I brought some of your clothes and underwear , mom and Ali!  I said sarcastically because Zach was starting to hope that I bring some clothes for him . But it was gonna be always anyway.  I mean if I bring some clothes for him.  I'm gonna some condoms or anything about guy's stuff. 

   Then my mom start to open conversations about Cedric Parker.  I realized I wasn't ready to move on without him.  I still remember our best moments.  Especially our first meeting in the library.  Every moment and everything he says was like coming back to me.  Even if it is 3 years ago. 

   Tomorrow morning,  I woke up 10:00 Am  . I forgot that Allah and Lizzie will gonna be there at 9:30 am .

  I look to my watch and I suddenly remember that Clyde is here.  Today is his schedule to come here.  So I run with my bag . Then I saw Maggie,  his girlfriend  . I run towards to her and then I asked her about Zach. 

   “ Hey Maggie , do you know where Clyde is ? Anyway do you know me ? ” I tried to ask her but she seems she doesn't remember me. 

   “ Samantha,  right ? Well he is at room 2009 . ” Seems like she remember everything I did. 

    I did try go to room 2009 and there he was standing making jokes actually making children happy.  I make a sign and he notice.  So I step outside and I'm sure he would come outside. 

    “ Hey,  how are you ?  ” Clyde checked me if I'm okay.  As soon as he get outside of the room. 

    “ Yeah and I need a ride using once of your ambulance. ” I replied calmly.  Then he became crazy. 

   “ Look,  I can't do that.  I mean it's hospital's property.  ” Clyde replied.  I can see that he was a bit angry. 

   “ Please ! ” I replied to Clyde but he was still angry.  He's face is still the same. 

   “ I'm sorry but I can't but I can leave you my motorcycle just let Joshua drive.  ” I don't want to be with Joshua but I don't have any choice  .

     “ Where is he?  Is he here?  ” Well I don't have any choice.  Even if I don't want to , I must , 'cause if I don't come there before 10:00 am I'm screwed. 

    “ Well he is in room next door.  ” Clyde raised his right hand pointing to the other room. 

     I hurriedly run to the next door . I opened the door and saw him with a girl that is a student in our school ,  last school year . And he was sitting next to her  , laying in her bed .

     “ Hey Joshua , let's go.  Do you receive Clyde's message.  ” I thought it was just his friend or cousins or one of his family. 

     “ Yeah!  Of course!  Come on.  ” Joshua took his steps away from the girl.  But he didn't look fine. 

    As we were walking , nobody even attempt to talk.  He can't even explain who is the girl or ask me how am I doing  . Just nothing , at a second I thought he lost his tongue or he suddenly became mute. 

      “ Hey how are you?  ” It's so embarrassing 'cause I make the first move. 

      I mean I always make the first move like on Christmas (2016) . I have him a present.  Last year,  he was this little brat.  I don't know what was the reason I feel for him at the first sight. 

        “ I'm fine , how about you?  ” Joshua replied without explaining what was the girl's identity. 

        I looked down and wonder who is the girl. 
Once we were outside he hop in,  in a
Harley - Davidson  motorcycle that Clyde let us to borrow . Then I hop in next.  We talked about something but he isn't telling me about the girl.
