King Thranduil's eyes lingered on (Y/n's) retreating figure as her back was faced to him. Her platinum blonde curled hair swayed behind her along with her blue gown. Thranduil knew he had taken his scolding a step to far but felt if he hadn't she would have disobeyed him once again. The king turned his back as her figure disappeared from his sight, now being able to show the slightest bit of emotion he felt. But quickly wiped it from his face feeling a presences he knew all to well.

"I know you are there" Thranduil anounced clearly, turning to face a shadow behind one of the many pillars in the large hall.
"Why do you linger in the shadow? Did you think I would not have noticed you.. Legolas?" He continued.

With the sound of his question, and knowing that he had been caught Legolas then showed himself, steping slowly from out of the shadows.
"I did not wish to interrupt" Legolas bowed his head slightly in respect towards his father. Thranduil only gave him a stern gaze.
"You did not need to speak with her so harshly ada" Legolas continued speaking his mind as he faced his father looking straight into his eyes. Thranduil only raised a brow before replying,
"And when did you take so much interest in my discipline for
(Y/n)?" Slowly he began to make his way up the stone stepts to his throne, watching Legolas intently.

Legolas was not phased by his fathers hard stare, his stare back was just as hard.
"She is growing fearful of you ada, it worries me" Legolas spoke truthfully with concern, letting his eyes flicker to the place where (Y/n) had disappeared to. Thranduil already knew this piece of information, it was ture he was becoming more harsh with (Y/n) with each scolding. But he would never take it so far as to hurt her, but what the King didn't know was that he already had.

"You musn't worry Legolas, I will not harm her" Thranduil spoke in a reasuring tone. But Legolas had seen that tear fall from
(Y/n's) face and the heart ach within her eyes.
"It's too late for such a promise, for you have already harmd her my King" Legolas spoke in a flat tone his face falling to an emotionless expression. Thranduil looked down to Legolas with shock within his eyes, but did not speak against him. With the silent reply Legolas had received from his father, he turned his back to him without another word and made his way down the stairs out of the halls of the throne. Thranduil took a seat at his throne once more letting himself fall into deep thought.

It's not like King Thranduil disliked (Y/n) in any way, infact it was quite the opposite. Thranduil had always adored her ever since she was a small child. He remembered how he would watch her as she played with Legolas, how she smiled brightly and laughed happily. Legolas was always much more older then
(Y/n), but they seemed to get along so well as if they were the same age.

(Y/n) brought a beautiful light into the kingdom of Mirkwood that the King could not. Thranduil was very greatful of (Y/n) for this. Since a darkness had fallen over the woods of Mirkwood bringing dangerous creatures along with it. This was the reason why Thranduil did not want the young mortal girl to be going so freely into the forsaken woods. Knowing how vulnerable she was, that she was not as skilled and wise as the other elves in his kingdom were. She had only been living for 17 years, only 84 moons, this was not long enough to be able to fend for herself. She worried the King immensely, he wanted to protect all his people. Even if (Y/n) was not originally of Mirkwood, she was a big part of his kingdom.
