Draco
"What we're you thinking playing a extremely inappropriate game with our four year old son?" Hermione asks seriously irritated.
"In my defense he came and asked me first." I huff annoyedly. How dare she talk to me that way?
"I don't care who asked who first. Scorpius has nightmares because of that stupid and reckless game. If he had nightmares tonight, you are not playing that game ever again." Hermione growls.
"Deal." I turn my nose up defiantly.
"Okay, Scorpius, it's nap time." Hermione looks down at little Scorpius with a smile in her gleaming eyes.
"Okay mommy." Scorpius says before letting her pick him up and lay him in his little bed shaped like a thestral. I cannot believe he thinks those beasts are cute. You can only see them if you've seen death yourself. I sigh before shaking my head and watching Hermione tuck him in with the blanket we were just using for blanket monster.
"Good night Scorp." Hermione and I whisper to our son.
"Night." He responds before rolling onto his stomach and falling asleep.
"Now we can go and make dinner." Hermione smiles. "I picked up fresh bread from the bakery today." Hermione makes small talk.
"That's wonderful, Hermione. I'm glad you did." I reply with a small smile. "What kind?"
"Sourdough and rye bread in the shape of baguettes." Hermione responds.
"Mm sourdough." I sigh, already tasting the delicious bread in my mouth.
"Let's go make dinner." Hermione says before taking my hand and leading me down to the kitchen.
Halfway through dinner:::::
Scorpius starts whining around 6:00. 20 minutes into his nap. I sigh. Hermione was right, like usual, about the damned blanket monster game giving Scorpius nightmares. I stand up from the kitchen table and make my way trough the house to his bedroom. His bedroom was slightly ajar, so I nudge it open with the heel of my foot carefully. I peek inside and find Scorpius with tears drizzling down his closed eyes and the blanket tangled in between his writhing legs. I pick him up and shush him and cradle him as much as possible.
"Shh buddy, hush you're okay." I whisper in his ear soothingly, remembering my own nightmares.
"Daddy?" He asks me.
"Yes?" I ask.
"No more blanket monster." He whines before falling asleep.
"Okay." I whisper and kiss his forehead before laying him back down and tucking his favorite stuffed koala bear between his arms and the railing of the bed.
I turn around and I'm met with Hermione. She has that look. We all know that look. "I told you so." She whispers before sauntering off.
It's extremely sexy when she's always right. "Damnit." I grunt before standing up and watching Scorpius for a few more minutes. I leave the room and go to find my plate of dinner on the table.
Two can play at this game. I think to myself. I'll make sure I'm right next time. I'll try to beat you at something. Challenge accepted.
