Suddenly, all of Laika's questions that she had bottled inside didn't have enough space to fit inside of her brain, and she blurted them all out at once.

"Who was that? How do you know him? Why am I 'different'? How did we teleport? WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON RIGHT NOW???"

Laika went on and on with her questions. Phobos simply stared at her as she ranted. After Laika was finally done, Phobos calmly stood up.

"Well, for one, that was Hecate. Second of all..."

Phobos looked around, checking if anyone else was there. There didn't seem to be anyone. She turned back to Laika and helped her up.

"I used to be part of a secret organization for people with supernatural powers. I've broken away since then, but..."

Phobos turned away from Laika. Her voice seemed distant, yet very serious.

"Once you get in, there's no going back." She looked back up at Laika. "They're still trying to find me. I've been off the grid for ages."

"'Off the grid'?"

"According to the government, I don't exist. I do have a couple of other members helping me out, however."

"Also, what's with the sudden emotional backstory? I thought you were supposed to be all weird and mysterious."

"Well, like I said, you're different. Anyway, about your question where everyone went..."

Phobos looked off into the distance while Laika waited in anticipation for the answer.

"Hecate must have them. I guess he must've taken all of the city's population to lure me out."

"But what about me? Why was I the only person that was left when he did that?"

"Good question. Hmm... Because he can't affect members of the Chronos Society."

Laika was extremely confused, to say the least. Phobos simply stood there, thinking, turned away from her. The two stood there in silence for the longest time. Laika was trying to put two and two together in her head about what Phobos had told her.

So Phobos has supernatural powers. And she was in a group called the Chronos Society? But not anymore. Ugh, I barely understand this at all... And Phobos cannot be her real name. I refuse to believe that.
