It did not take long for Hecate to free all the city's people from inside his orb and lock Gaea inside. Patricia stumbled out of the orb and immediately punched Hecate across the vaporous jaw. Iris, Laika, and Phobos had to pull her off him, and hurriedly explained everything. After everyone accepted all the event prior to the conversation, Phobos said:
"There is one thing I don't quite understand, Hecate, why did you choose to help Iris?"
"She originally asked me to be your aid with Patricia, but I refused knowing Gaea would kill me if she knew. However, Gaea threatening me was the straw that broke the camel's back. I still tried to do my job for her, but capturing Patricia took a lot from me. So, here I am. And I have to say Phobos, it's nice to see you without your mask for once. It's a nice change of tone rather than the blank, soulless face you had on before. I would know."
"Yes, you're safe now, Phobos," Iris smiled, hugging her girlfriend.
"Yes, yes I am," Phobos grinned.
In the end, Laika returned to her normal life drinking misspelled coffee, working for the super powered head of the newly-built Jiwe News, and helping her new best friends run the re-created Chronos Society, focused on correcting injustices. Yes, this was the new normal life of Laika, and she had nothing to complain about.
