Her. -A Divergent Fanfic-

My name is Alice. The chances of you knowing of me is really low, I try to stay in the shadows. I was born in Abnegation, the selfless faction. I don't have a lot of friends. I can't trust anyone because of the abuse my father has done to me, and my older brother, Tobias. He was my only friend at the times, until he decide to leave our faction and choose another. Dauntless.

" Hurry up and get to school!" Marcus yells, with the belt in his hand. I do as he says and run outside. I walk towards the school. Today's the day, the day we take a test that decides our entire life.

I decide to stay at the end of the line, unnoticed. I notice I guy from Erudite making fun of our faction. It doesn't surprise me at all. It happens all the time...... I do as usual and stay hidden.

*About 4 hour later*

I wait in the cafeteria. In a few minutes my name will be called and I will be taking the aptitude test.
"Alice Eaton" an Erudite woman says. I walk over to hall way near the rooms. I walk inside my room when I hear a buzz. Inside a Dauntless woman. " My names Tori. I will be administering your test." I nod and sit onto the seat. She hands me a liquid.

"Drink"
"What is it?"
" I can't tell you that. Just trust me."
"What's it going to do?"
" I can't tell you that. Trust me"

I listen to her, and drink it. Before I know it I am under simulation.
"Choose" A voice says. On my left I see a knife and on my right, cheese.
"Wait what. Why?"
"Choose!"
"Answer my question"
"Have it your way" The objects disappear and a dog pops up. Growling. "Shh... Calm..." It doesn't listen.

"Puppy" Says a little girl. The dog runs after her. I run after the dog and jump on top of it. The setting changes.

" Have you seen this man" asks a faction-less man.
"Nope" I say
"Your lying"
"No I'm not"
"Please! You could save me!"
"I'm sorry."

I wake up.

"What were my results?" No response.
" You're coming with me" Tori says.
'Wait why.."
"I'm sending you home. If anyone asks just say you got sick and were sent home."
" What no.'
"Listen to me."
" What were my results."
"Abnegation. And Dauntless. And Amity."
"Is that even possible?"
"It possible. Just extremely rare. They call it Divergent. You must not tell anyone about this. You understand. Being Divergent is very dangerous. They're killing them off. You must hide yourself in a faction you wont be caught in. Understand."
"Yes." I say and walk outside.

*20 minutes later*
" Your home early." Marcus says. I was expecting him to be at work but apparently he's not. Before I know it I'm being whipped till I'm weak on the ground. Passed out. I don't want to wake up. But I do.

Once I wake up I run to my room and lock the door. I fall a sleep.

*Next Day*

As soon as I wake up, I quickly get my clothes on.... I run outside, even though Marcus is not home. I slowly walk to The Hub where The Choosing Ceremony is taking place. I'm not sure what I'll pick... I just know, for once... I am not picking Abnegation.

When I get inside, I put my head down trying not to be noticed. I bang into Jeanine Mathews, one of the Erudite leaders. Someone I am terrified of. "I'm sorry." I say. " It's okay. Alice? Is it?" She know my name. " Yeah." "Thought so. Choose wisely " She says than disappears into the shadows. How does she know who I am? Marcus? Most likely. All these thoughts flutter in my head. But I need to focus on one thing. One thing only. And that's what I'm going to choose.

Jeanine gives a speech when the ceremony begins, a short and boring one. And then Marcus comes on the stage. All I can do is shiver in fear. He hides his selfishness so well, no one would believe me if I said anything about his abuse to me.

"Alice Eaton" Marcus says. I walk onto the stage. I grab a knife. Not paying attention, I walk over to the Dauntless bowl and have my blood inside it. I chose Dauntless. Dauntless? It never hit me that I would choose Dauntless. 5 years ago I would never picture this. But the choice can not be undone. I. Am. Dauntless.

The Dauntless crowd cheers, louder than any other faction. I sit down and watch.

*End of ceremony*

Before I know it, I am running with the Dauntless. We run all the way to this one section. Everyone starts climbing. I climb with them of course, except I'm a lot faster than I thought I was. When I get on top I realize its a train track.

I hear a train... Before I know it the Dauntless are running again. Next thing you know it, they are jumping onto the train. Dauntless people are crazy. I jump onto the train also... Surprisingly... When I do I fall on top of a Candor girl and another Abnegation.

"I'm.. Sorry." I say.
" Its alright, " says the Candor.
"I'm Christina" she says again.
"Alice"
"Dauntless people are crazy." Christina says
" You could say that again" the Abnegation and I say together.
We all burst out laughing.
" Woah , You all sound like a bunch of Amity." says an Amity girl.
"Aha Sorry," I answer back "My day has been absolutely crazy."
" That happens all the time for me. I'm Destiny"
"Alice" I made friends, which is a first for me. I would have never expected this.

Before you know it, people are lining up by the train wall. "Get ready" says some Dauntless." We have to jump, again?" Christina adds. " Guess so." I respond "Guess Dauntless are crazy" says the other Abnegation. Before I know it I've jumped off the train.

"This is how you get inside." says Eric. Those words hit me hard. I have to jump? Off a building?
"So who's gonna go? Someone has to go first. "
"I'll do it." the other Abnegation says. She takes about 5 minutes then jumps.
"Ok. One down 39 more to go. Who's next?"
I walk up.
He laughs, "Another stiff?"
I nod and jump. I land straight into a net. Ouch. Before I know it I'm getting out of a net.
"Another stiff? What were you pushed too?" his voice sounds familiar.. To familiar. I turn my head.

" Tobias."

Hai :) Likey? I know I took ALOT of quotes from the movie.. Ok... Not a lot.. But trust me.. I read the books. I just saw the movie yesterday so I have the movie quotes inside my head. Also..... I have added new characters to this.. As you can see I have already mentioned one... - Destiny-
