Date night (part 1)

Everyone was in for date night. And by everyone, I mean the whole school. Booking movie tickets, reserving tables at fancy restaurants and cafes, etcetera, etcetera. Even Treena found herself a date, I'd  actually thought of having a sleepover at her place when the whole 'date night' was going on. Turned out she bailed on me and went out with this other dummy, I mean he seems like a good monster. I approve of their relationship. But. There goes my cue for eternal loneliness. It's such a big deal to the monsters at school. Even the teachers are talking about it. One thing, I don't have a date myself, so let's just say I am one of the odd ones out. I know. Pretty disappointing. But to me it does really matter. Okay maybe I was kinda hurt when Treena said she had a date whilst I don't. So here I am sitting in class,  wandering about what I'm gonna do later after school since, you know. Everyone's out on date night. My dad? He found himself a date too. Well, he was kinda 'forced' to go out with this dummy named 'Mary Ellen' Is that how you pronounce her name? Well you know what who cares.

The school bell rings and everyone cheers since its the end of school and yeah. Date night thingy. Sure is weird since I am talking about this all by myself, cause I used to do all the complaining with Treena. The rest? Well Maniacal Jane's going out with this monster (totally don't know his name), Desert's going out with Taco (I know, I was pretty surprised myself), Elizabeth's going with haunts mask (eh, expected that anyway), Rachel's going with this monster she met outside the school (the story was pretty tragic but cute) and the listing goes on and on and stops at me. I was kind of wishing I had someone to go out with, cause I don't know, I've never really been asked out on this occasion. Sad. I'm walking by the corridors, on my way to the locker room. Practically the whole school left early, so I'm guessing that I'm all alone here. *Sigh*
"Come on, please go out with me! You know you want to," I hear a familiar voice. Before turning the corner, I sneak a peek to see Isabelle. As expected, so she doesn't have a date either ey. Let's see who's the monster she's trying to persuade.

Big mistake.
Ouch. It's Justin. "Sorry, Isabelle, I can't. I already have someone else in mind," he says walking towards my direction to get away from Isabelle. "Psh fine! Your lost!" she shouts and turns on her heels walking away from the scene. Someone else in mind? The monster must be very lucky to be going out with Justin tonight. I sigh again and walk to the locker room, like that's the whole damn reason.

I shove my books in and left the place. Still walking by the corridors, by now the entire school is gone but me. I walk pass by the principal's office to see it empty too. Woah even the principal's got himself a date. "Gosh why does it sound like I'm making such a fuss about this whole date night thingy!" I scream, my voice echoing through the corridors. "Marianette? Your still here?" I turn my back to see Justin again. More likely I'm suppose to ask that question here. "I was on my way from the locker room. Why are you still here? Don't you have a date or something? Oh who am I kidding of course you have a date. Right?" I say rolling my eyes at mentioning of 'date' again. He shakes his head. Weird. And I thought I was the only one without a date. Minus Isabelle on that one. "The thing is, there's this dummy I want to ask out, but I don't know if she wants to go out with a dummy like me," he says hands in his pocket, he seems to be blushing like mad crazy right now. So weird. "Are you insane or something?! Who wouldn't want to go out with a dummy like you? If anything they'd be happy right?" I blurt the truth. "You really think so? Well in that case, I.." he stops to take something out of from his bag. Then there pops up a darn stunning rose,  shining in the sun beam. Damn that dummy sure is lucky. "Marianette, w-would you go out with me tonight?" woah, say what now?

I kept quiet, not saying anything.
"u-mm, it's okay if you don't want to. I might as well just help my mom at hom-" "No. I mean yes. I'd like to go out with you," I say smiling so wide that my cheeks hurt. "R-really? Uh okay, guess I'll meet you later. Here. Okay bye!" he hands the rose and scurries off jumping like its the best day of his life. Maybe it is. I could feel my cheeks heating up, wait. "Hey Justin where am I gonna meet y-" nope to late he leaped into a portal. Suddenly my phone beeps. 3 new messages. From an unknown number.

Unknown: Chanté Aúr restaurant, by Earmons main street.
Unknown: later at 7.15pm
Unknown: ‹=

Fancy much? I actually expected to go to McDilnard's or something. Oh well, it's a date anyways, so let let it be classy and clichè as it is. I check the time and it points at 6.35. Shoot I only have an hour and something minutes left. Or is it half an hour? Who cares. I open up a portal and jump straight in. I hope this date goes well, or I'm gonna end up looking like a puffy eyed bird in no time.

Oh I beg you good people to please not judge me at how bad I am at naming restaurants or cafes. Pls don't kill for this, do it for Marianette's sake...
