(Jungkook' POV)
"Jungkookie!" I heard a girl call out behind me. I turned around to see Arin's friend, Kenzie. "Ah, anneyong Kenzie." I greeted the girl who caught my attention.
"Yeah yeah, you can call me Kenz" she gave my a cheeky smile. "Do you have plans today? Because I'm free" she said rushingly still smiling wide while her head tilted to either side of her head
'She's quite weird' I said to myself
"Actually, your best friend is sick. I'll have to check on her." I told her.
She rolled her eyes on me and looked to the side and back to me. "I texted her just now," she looked at me "she did she'll be alright. She's not even sick ha-ha-ha. "
"If that's so, I still need to check on her. Mianhe." I gave her a short bow.
"Waeyo oppa?" Kenzie started batting her eyes on me. "Yah, don't call me oppa." I nervously laughed. "Anyways, I have to go already. Arin needs to be taken care of."
"Ani, didn't I just tell you she'll be alright?"
"I'm sorry, I don't wanna seem rude but—" I said "why are you so persistent?"
Her eyes suddenly widened and she let out a loud sarcastic laugh. "Nothing, I was just hoping we could catch up more. You see, you're getting pretty close to my best friend. And it's quite unfair because, you should know her best friend too right?" She told me.
"Ahhh, ye. I understand. I'll just text Arin, to see if she's really alright." I told her and turned around to type a message for Arin.
I asked her if she was alright that I'll be a little bit late
Arin
Arin: lol, that's fine
Arin: why do you even need to ask me I'm not your mom hahaha
you: your best friend invited me for dinner
you: and idk if it's just me but I find this very awkward
you: I swear there's smth up w her
Arin: Kenzie?
Arin: aigooo, be careful
you: wae wae wae
Arin: lol, you'll see :)
you: waeyoooo
Arin: [ read ]
'Aish this girl'
"So what did she say?" Kenzie asked behind me. "She said she's alright, I'll go buy us dinner then." I said uncomfortably.
"Yah why do you sound so uncomfortable? Don't do that, I'm you're friend now too." She smiled a flirty smile and wrapped her arm around mine.
(Kenzie's POV)
I know she's my best friend and all, but thank God that Arin doesn't feel well. I really think her sickness is a sign that Jungkook and I were meant to go out together.
"Where do you want to eat?" Jungkook asked me while we looked around the restaurants. "Oh I could eat anywhere, they serve good food anywhere here in Korea anyways."I replied to him.
Then we've arrived in a grilling restaurant not so far from our school. Since it was still a weekday, we couldn't really go anywhere far.
We ordered our food and had a little chat. "So, how long have you known Arin?" Jungkook asked me.
"Ahh, I've known her for over two years now I guess. I moved here to Korea from Arizona because of the job my father gave me."
"Jinja? But you're fluent in Korean, how?"
"Ahhh, my father had almost a year to prepare our migration. So during that time my mom and I attended extra classes so that the language barrier won't be that much big of a deal." I explained to him. "Haha, anyways, what do you like about Arin so much?"
