"Sherlock."

Silence.

"Sherlock."

No reply.

"Sherlock."

Silence.

"Sherlock!" You yelled frustratedly, trying to get your boyfriend's attention.

"What?" Sherlock replied in an annoyed tone as he looked at the board with focused eyes.

Sighing in exasperation, you rolled your eyes. "Get dressed, or else we're going to be late."

You checked the time on your watch and saw that you only had about fifteen minutes left until your brother's birthday party began. You needed to hurry if you wanted to be on time.

You were standing in the doorway of the hall, looking the exact opposite of your boyfriend. You were wearing a beautiful (f/c) dress with matching shoes while Sherlock was still dressed in his pyjama trousers and fancy robe.

"I'm not going." Sherlock answered curtly, not bothering to face you.

Since he was too busy with trying to solve the case, he didn't see how aggravated you got by his words and his manner of speak.

"What do you mean you aren't going?" You asked with lowered eyebrows. "A few days ago, you promised me that you would go with me."

"Well, a few days ago, i didn't have a case to solve which i do have now." He stressed the word, hinting that you should leave him alone.

Breathing deeply out of your nose, you closed your eyes and clenched your fists to prevent yourself from hitting him. Lord knows how much you want to right now.

You were absolutely fed up with Sherlock. You couldn't handle the way he acted whenever he had a case. Sherlock wouldn't eat or talk to you for days. He would be extremely annoyed by everything and just completely forget about you. The only thing that would matter the most to him was the case.

The case but not you.

You tried to calm down, trying to breath slower and steady your heart, but it wasn't working.

"Sherlock, i know this case is hard to solve, but i think you should take a break." You said in a soothing tone.

You took a step forward into the living room. "You have been staring at the board for days without finding a solution. So, why don't you just come with me to the party and relax a bit?"

He still didn't make eye contact and ignored your statement. "Can you be quiet? I can't hear myself thinking."

Those words released the anger and frustration you felt every time he was on a case.

You stormed towards Sherlock with long, quick strides and stopped in front of the board with a flushed face, standing before the consulting detective's view.

"(y/n), get out of the way." Sherlock warned, finally looking into your eyes for the first time in days.

"No, i will not." You crossed your arms over your chest. "I'm not leaving this room until you get dressed and come with me to the party."

"How many times do i have to tell you that i'm not going? Or is that too difficult to understand with your tiny brain?" Sherlock asked with a tipped-lipped smile.

"Tiny brain?" You repeated furiously and glared at him with your (e/c) eyes. "At least i can understand with my tiny brain that you should take a break before you pass out from exhaustion."

"I'm not exhausted. I don't need to take a break. The only thing that i need to do is solve this bloody case!" Sherlock shouted with a clenched jaw.

You threw your hands in the air. "Merlin, Sherlock, you're treating this case like it's the most important thing in the world."

"Well, maybe, it is!" Sherlock screamed, staring at you with his cold eyes that usually were filled with affection.

Tears began to well up in your eyes but you refused to let them fall. You heart ached at his words, finding the pain unbearable.

As you slowly broke down, you watched as he realized what he had said and the meaning behind those words. His face filled with guilt.

You cleared your throat and held your head up. "Well, if that's the case, you don't need me then."

"(y/n), i did—" Sherlock tried to stop you but you wouldn't let him.

You ignored his attempts at trying to get you to stay and walked around him, grabbing your coat and purse before leaving the flat.
