Since you have become friends with Mycroft, you both only saw each other once a week, sometimes even once in two weeks, because you both had jobs with terrible work hours, where you would be extremely lucky if you even had a free afternoon.

Since you two went around London to look for the best chocolate fudge cupcake there was in the sleepless city, you decided to do it together, since it would be less lonely and much more fun.

So, every Thursday became your hunting day, where you met each other at a cafe, (the cafe was usually recommended by you), that was different from the one you went to the previous week, so you could hunt for the best chocolate fudge cupcake.

"Hey, Mycroft." You smiled happily as you pulled him into a hug.

In the beginning of your friendship, you always greeted each other with a firm handshake, but after a while, you started to pull Mycroft into a hug whenever you would arrive at the cafe.

"Hello, (y/n)," Mycroft mumbled against your hair as his body relaxed around your arms, returning the hug.

After greeting one another, you stepped into the cafe side by side and observed the place with curious eyes.

Mycroft went to look for a table in the back like he usually did while you walked towards the counter, ordering the chocolate fudge cupcakes and your favorite drinks.

You took the tray filled with food from the girl at the counter, giving her a gentle smile, and walked towards Mycroft, who had managed to find a table to sit at.

"Thank you." He said with a slight smile as you passed him his cupcake and his cup of coffee, him immediately taking a sip of his coffee.

"No problem." You grinned back, placing your food and drink in front of you and taking a seat across from Mycroft.

Your hands eagerly began to remove the paper around the bottom of the cupcake, so that you could finally take a bite.

You began to eat your cupcake while watching the other person's reaction. The cupcake was good, but it was a little bit dry in the center, and you couldn't really taste much of the chocolate fudge, so it wasn't a winner for you,

After finishing the cupcake, you rated the chocolate fudge cupcake for fun, like you usually did.

"I give it a three." You spoke up after finishing the cupcake.

"A three?" Mycroft raised his eyebrow, showing that he found my answer strange.

"I know, i know, usually i give a four—" You began, placing your chin in your hand. "But it was a little dry and i couldn't really taste much of the chocolate fudge."

He nodded, clearly liking my answer. "Well, i give it a three out of five."

His answer wasn't a surprise to you, since Mycroft usually gave the cupcake a three or two stars out of five, never finding them delicious enough to give them a four.

That was because the cupcakes you two have eaten so far, were somewhat delicious, but they were never as good and heavenly as the ones they sold at the Ponds.

After rating the cupcake, you began to talk about common things like how your day was, how Jimmy from work was still an annoying prick, and how your latest deals went with the most boring persons in the world.

As always, Mycroft complained about his little brother, who you came to find out was the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock was again doing something stupid, (this time it was taking a fight against a well-known psychopath), which, of course, worried Mycroft, but he would never admit to that.

You took his hand in yours, sliding your fingers into his slender ones, giving it a light squeeze. You smiled gently at him, reassuring him that nothing bad was going to happen. Sherlock may do reckless things but he wasn't an idiot.

Mycroft squeezed your hand back, not saying anything, but showing you with his eyes that he was grateful and appreciated your comfort.

He squeezed his hand one last time before letting it go, and began to talk about the books he was reading, completely changing the subject.

The books he talked about, were books that you already read and knew of, so you could easily talk to him about them. You began to discuss some of the more interesting chapters in the books, exchanged opinions and recommended some books that the other one must read.

After you had finished your drinks, you disposed of your tray by the counter and left the cafe together.

Arriving outside, you instantly got pulled into a hug by Mycroft which was a big surprise since you were the one who usually initiated the hug.

"I had a great time today." He whispered in a soft tone, his arms slightly tightening around you.

Pulling back from his chest, you looked up and and nodded with a smile. "Me too."

"Good." He smiled wryly.

Squeezing you one last time, he pulled back and let his arm drop to his sides, one of them grabbing his umbrella that he had balanced on his leg.

"I'll see you next week." You promised as you slowly began to walk backwards.

Mycroft nodded, watching you as you went. "Until then."

Sending Mycroft one last smile, you turned around and walked away into the opposite direction.
