Season 1, Episode 1 ~ Pt. 1
-------------------------------------------------------
Blair Ford, a beautiful girl of 18, looked left then right, then left again before she took a deep breath and crossed the busy street. Her destination was the lobby bar of the posh hotel that sat on the corner. Hoisting her backpack so it sat more comfortably on her right shoulder, she couldn't help but let her thoughts drift back to the worry that had plagued her on her trip to Chicago. She was mainly worried about how her father would react to seeing her. She knew it probably wouldn't be a negative reaction; he probably would wonder why she was sat at a bar next to him in the middle of the day instead of at school. Then he would ask if her mother knew where she was.
The honest answer to that question was simply; not yet.
Blair knew Maggie would soon know, and she really hoped she had timed things in such a way that it would be too late for her mother to do anything about it. Blair didn't feel that bad, she had left her mother a note telling her she was going to see her dad. She felt that was better than most parents got when their kids decided to cross the country to find and live with their other parent.
Finding her father had been a little too easy for her; all it took was a quick glance at 'Find a Friend' on her iPhone and she was sorted. Blair wasn't surprised to see her father in a Bar – she knew enough about her mother and Father's break up to know that his drinking was part of the reason behind that.
As she walked through the lobby of the hotel and into the bar, she noticed straight away that the room was completely empty apart from a single man who was sat slumped at the very end of the bar – sitting as far away from the main door to the room as possible.
That man was Nate Ford, her father.
As Blair slowly made her way towards him, she heard the waiter say, "I checked. The Airport shuttle's in 15 minutes," the man then gave the girl an odd look which was understandable as she knew it was the middle of the day and schools weren't on holiday or anything.
Blair didn't let the look faze her as she slipped into the seat next to the slumped figure, "so, are you off on holiday or something?" she asked, not looking at him in fear of his reaction to her being there.
The last thing Nathan Ford had expected that day was to hear the voice of his daughter. His hand faltered slightly as he poured the small bottle of vodka into a glass of coke that was in front of him. once the bottle was empty, he finally turned to look at the young person sitting next to him.
Blair hadnt seen her father in person since the divorce over a year ago, mainly because her mother Maggie didn't trust the man. Blair didn't get a say in who she was stuck with after the divorce but both her mother and her father knew the girl would have chosen the man she was currently sat beside.
The young adult was the older man's double in female form. She seemed to get nothing from her mother in physical looks, though she did know she got some genetics from her in mannerisms and her brain was the best of both her parents.
"B-blair...?" the whispered question came after a few moments silence where Nate drank in the sight of his daughter unblinkingly. Too scared she'd disappear if he did.
Blair looked at him, "Hi daddy..." it was all she could muster as she finally met his eye, sending him the smallest of smiles.
Before Nate could say anything more, question his daughter about why she was sat next to him there was a nervous cough before a voice spoke up from behind the pair.
