“Perrie, get up! We’re going to be late!” I groan and turn around to face the mattress, placing a pillow over my head to drown out Jade’s booming voice. I haven’t slept in weeks; I badly need this time to sleep. My eyes feel like they’re glued shut and I can’t be bothered to leave this comfortable hotel bed today, but I’m lying to myself if I keep on thinking that I’ll get my way.

“Perrie, I’m serious, Jesy and Leigh are already dressing up, and you’re still in bed! Simon is going to kill us if we don’t get there in time.” I can feel her climbing into bed and jumping repeatedly, making it impossible for me to fall back into sleep when I’m hearing bed springs, her voice, and my face continuously hitting the pillow in an unpleasant way.

I’d rather be woken up by my alarm clock at this hour in the morning; at least I can make that stop. Jade is impossible to stop, she’s fun to be around with but when it’s time to work, she’ll make sure everyone is up and running.

“Alright!” I groan, sitting up and rubbing my eyes from sleep to open them properly. I don’t have the best eyesight in the world, but it’s better to see a blurry version of Jade than to feel like I’m in the dark talking to her voice.

She stops jumping and falls back on the end of the bed, “Thank God, I thought I was going to have to call room service to bring me a bucket of water to pour over you and ruin their bloody expensive bed sheets.”

“There’s no need to do that, I’m up.” I say groggily, yawning as I put on my soft bedroom slippers and lazily walk around the room in hopes of finding the bathroom door without stubbing my toe on their expensive furniture. I can’t have that; I just got my nails done yesterday.

“Where are you going?” Jade laughs from the bed.

I run my fingers through my blond hair, “To the bathroom to take a shower?”

“You’re heading to a window, Pez.” She sniggers and I groan again, realizing that I am indeed, facing a glass window that overlooked London, covered with thick curtains. I was just a few centimeters close from hitting my head on the glass and despite being annoyed in the morning; I was quite thankful I didn’t hit my head on that surface and got a nasty bump.

I turn around and this time, heading in the right direction. I open the bathroom door, immediately locking it and turning to face the mirror. I stared at my reflection for a while before realizing what day it is today. Today’s the day for Simon’s announcement, April 5. We have to be there before noon, my eyes open a little wider now, realizing that I have to get ready and I have to do it quick or else I’ll get an earful from our manager, Kris.

I stepped into the shower, taking longer than I normally do without me knowing. Jade was knocking at the door for me to hurry up and I roll my eyes, stepping out of the shower and plugging in the hair dryer to blow dry my hair. I put on my underwear and a robe to cover myself up as I did my own make-up, smiling at my reflection when I get it done perfectly.

I walked out of the bathroom and tried to pick an outfit as Jade blabbered on, pacing around my room now dressed up, and her heels making soft thudding sounds against the carpeted floor. I slipped on a light pink midrib and a denim jacket, along with a blue skirt that was just a shade darker than my denim jacket and my white pumps. I tied my hair up with a white wrap around head band, and when I grabbed my purse and headed out to the door, Jade sighed in relief, “Finally, now we can go.”

Jesy and Leigh along with our team were waiting for us, and as predicted I did get an earful from Kris, our on-the-road manager, about the importance of being on time while handing me a white paper cup of coffee from Starbucks as we rode the black van to the SYCO building.
