I could come up with a thousand different excuses as to why I haven't uploaded in ages, but they're all too stupid. I shouldn't have to have an excuse, I should be updating like I promise. Sorry guys, and this chapter isn't my biggest but I still hope you enjoy it :)
Chapter nine – “Lonely”
-Sasha-
“That will be sixty eight dollars and thirty nine cents.”
I sighed and opened my wallet, pulling out my credit card. I was buying a new dress for a function at dad’s hotel. I thought I needed to look nice; I wanted to meet some new people. The last two weeks have been lonely for me; I hadn’t seen Jason since our fight.
If only he had let me explain...
I blame myself though. He let me talk but the only words that came to my head were ‘I love you.’ I didn’t love him at all, that’s silly. But it made me hesitate and it made me look stupid.
“Have a nice day, ma’am.”
“Thank you.”
I took my bag and walked out of the store, heading outside to get a taxi home. I couldn’t be bothered walking, especially when I was wearing high heels. I had chosen a black strapless dress that stopped mid thigh. It was just your average party dress, I guess. I had also bought a new purse and a pair of black stiletto heels.
As soon as I stepped outside I was in a large screaming crowd.
“What on earth...”
I pushed my way through until I made it out of the crowd and to the side walk, dangerously close to the busy road. I heard some people mutter about someone famous drawing in the crowds.
But who?
“Oh my god daddy, it’s Lady Gaga!”
I used to love her, she was honestly amazing. If a taxi hadn’t just pulled up in front of me I would have gone and tried to get a glimpse of her. Though I had other things on my mind and my taxi waited.
I hopped in the cab and told the driver where to go. I then sat back in my seat and pulled out my phone texting my brother, Leroy.
‘On my way home, got my clothes for tomorrow night.’
I didn’t need to text him that, the thing is, I just wanted to text again. I never texted anyone anymore.
***
-Jason-
I found myself counting minutes. Minutes eventually became hours which became days and weeks.
I missed her.
I missed the freedom.
I missed our tree.
“So what happened to that girl of yours, McCann?” Murphy was smirking and leaning against the bars of my cell.
I gritted my teeth and squeezed my fist shut. “Shut the hell up, Murphy.”
“And if I don’t?”
“You’re in my reach.” I told him, staring as his arm which slightly came in through the bar spaces.
He pursed his lips and stepped back, swallowing loudly. “Whatever McCann, you don’t scare me.”
“You know, that’s exactly what the other guys said,” I smirked. “Although, it was unfortunate they can’t be here to tell you the outcome.”
“You can’t kill behind those bars.” He took another step backwards. “You’ll never have the satisfaction of hurting me.”
“Won’t I? I was told I wouldn’t be in here forever.”
