The guards entered the throne room as the argument between the Queens got heated.

"Your majesty, my deepest apologies"

"What is it?"

"We found this girl wandering aimlessly through the city and thought she might have been up to something"

"Bring her in" the king announced.

The second guard pushed her through the door harshly.

Unable to keep balance, the girl tripped and fell hard on to the polished tile.

Gumball and Marshall, being the humble gentlemen they are helped the poor girl up.

"My sincerest apologies miss, the guards do tend to be a bit rougher than need be" Gumball said brushing the dirt from her dainty dress.

He looked up at her.

Her eyes were a charming dusky blue, hair as green as moss, skin that was perfectly sun kissed.

She was clothed in a red satin dress. It was slightly worn and frayed a bit at the bottom. Her stockings were dingey and had runs in them. Her shoes were scuffed. Little hole filled gloves wrapped around her tiny hands.

A small gold tiara sat upon her head.

"It's quite alright your highness. I didn't mean to cause any trouble" she spoke so politely.

Queen Aberdeen snidely comments.

"For someone so polite, you have some nerve coming here looking like that"

The child looked down at her attire shamefully.

Queen Taffy however, noticed the tiara and pondered.

"Little one, who are you and where did you come from?"

The girl looked up.

"My name is Nicole. I was the princess of the Rosewynd empire. My family and I took shelter in a bunker near the mountain's base. Just hours ago, my parents died from starvation. I'm all that's left of Rosewynd" tears dripped slowly down her dusty cheeks.

Marshall pulled a cloth from his pocket and gently wiped her tears away.

The candy king and queen spoke briefly with one another before turning to the young Princess.

"Princess, the queen and I have discussed a matter that we would like to offer you" King Jawbreaker stated.

"Yes, your majesty?" She was fearful.

"We have plenty of room for you here in the castle. You are more than welcome to stay with us. You will have food, water, clothing, shelter and anything else you need. What do you say?"

"Yes! I accept with utmost gratitude your majesty, thank you" she beamed a bright smile.

Peppermint maid lead her to her room to clean up and properly dress before joining the boys in the garden.
