"You're a legit princess?!" Fiona beamed.

"Yeah, and the only one from what I'm hearing"

"Sweet peas and cottage cheese! We gotta tell the boys!" Cake squealed excitedly.

"We'll go tomorrow, I'm sure that she'll wanna get rest first. We've gotta to meet them anyway" Fiona said swallowing the last bite of her sandwich.

Cake set up a hammock for Nicole to sleep.

"Goodnight girls" Nicole said as she drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

The next morning Nicole was awoken by the scent of pancakes and eggs with bacon.

She crawled out from under her covers and met with her gracious hostesses in the dining room.

Upon finishing breakfast, Fiona asked a question that practically stopped Nicole's heart.

"You ready to meet the guys at the candy castle?"

Nicole spit her drink out.

"What? The candy castle?!"

"Yeah, I promised that we would meet up there with a couple pals of mine"

"I-I don't know Fi"

"Come on, please" she begged the princess.

Despite her better judgement and dread of returning to the castle she once called home, she gave in to her new friend.

The threesome walked to the sugary Utopia that daunted the princess.

Once inside, they ran into the very royals that turned her away.

"Fiona! Cake! I'm so glad you made it!" Exclaimed Gumball.

"Yo girlie! Sup Kitty! Who's the cutie?" Marshall eyed the princess up and down.

"Yes, Fiona, who's your new friend?"

Nicole scoffed.

"Tch and to think I called you my friends. You can't even remember me"

"Excuse me?!" Gumball snapped.

"Maybe it would be better if I just disappeared again" she trailed off bitterly as tears cascaded downwards and her body shook.

Marshall lunged at her, tears flowing from his own eyes. He picked her up and hugged her close.

"Nikki, I thought I'd never see you again! Where have you been all this time?!" He sobbed not letting go.

She hugged back. Marshall never forgot her. He just didn't recognize her after all the years had passed.

Gumball stood dumbstruck, like he'd seen a ghost.

He approached her as Marshall set her down.

He shakily took her hands with tears pouring down his cheeks.

"I'm so sorry Nikki, for everything I said that day. Please don't leave me again!"

Nikki was soon engulfed in both Gumball and Marshall's embrace.

Fiona and Cake were treated to the backstory of these three over tea and biscuits.
