Chapter One

Adelaide's POV

I abruptly opened my eyes to the sound of my alarm at 6:45 am. I got out of bed and started getting ready quickly seeing as how I have 15 minutes to get ready and head to the airport.

Since I was accepted into NYU I have been anxious to leave. I have always had my dad to rely on and be with. Now that I'm going to be across the country I'm going to be alone for pretty much the first time in my whole life. Scary.

Once I was ready it was already 6:47. I only had about ten minutes to say my goodbyes to everyone. In the past years me and my sisters have never gotten too close but I had learned to care for them.

I headed downstairs with my suitcase and carry on. My family was waiting for me in the kitchen.

"My big college girl!" Dad said as he came to pull me into a hug.

Jessica, my sister, also joined us in a hug

"I'm going to miss you all." I said

I could tell my Dad was trying not to cry. I was and always will be his little girl

"Alright well I better leave before I'm late." I said wiping away a tear

My mother and sisters carried my suitcases out to the car while me and my Dad got in the car.

He insisted on being the one to drive me to the airport.

It was a peaceful drive and also a nervous one for me.

"Bye Dad, I love you and I'll miss you. I promise I will text you everyday." I said getting my things from the trunk

"I'll miss you too, pumpkin, (lmao idek why I came up with that) I got you something actually."

I watched him pull out an envelope from his pocket.

I looked inside and found a beautiful pair of diamond earrings.

"Actually I got the diamonds from your Mom's ring made into earrings for you." He said smiling

I teared up hearing that. I knew it was something he would never give up.

My mom meant so much to him and that was all he had left of her.

"Dad, I can't take these." I looked at him sadly

"No no, I want you to have them. Just to remember me by."

I hugged him tightly

"I love you Dad."

"Love you too, pumpkin. It's time for you to go or you'll be late." He said ushering me to go inside

And I did. I wiped away my tears and walked in the doors to take me away to the rest of my life.

How do y'all like Dad Grayson? Lmaooo. I also am making the chapters probably a little longer than this but my old ones were about 100-115 words and this one is 460+ so probably a little longer ANYWAYS
