Midnight Starlight

Chapter 7

    Kendall looked around and asked

"So what room is this, Derek? You didn't tell me when we walked in."

    Derek looked away from Hunter and Tucker as they were back to wolf form and practicing fighting again and said

"Why don't you tell her Rex."

    Rex made a small smirk and said

"This is the room where the wolves practice their battling skills. We usually fight wolves from packs that threaten our peace and demons but that is mainly it. We practice and practice, even if we are good, because the demons over time, have gotten stronger but slower than wolves over the years."

    Kendall looked around and saw the many enclosed areas and the standup dummies in one area of the large room and then a lot of jumps, things to walk under, and square kiddy pools of water.

"Is that where you practice agility?" she asked, pointing in the direction of the jumps and other obstacles.

    Rex nodded and said

"Yes it is. We have to practice all this since we chase wolves from other packs off our territory sometimes and chase demons and kill them."

    Kendall walked over to the obstacles and saw that there was a little white wire that went around the whole obstacle course. She looked at Rex questionably and pointed at the wire pinned to the ground, not saying a word. Rex looked at it and pointed to the wall which had two hooks with two very large collars that would seem to fit four great danes in them.

"Shock collars. We wear them when we practice agility so we can be pushed to go faster"

  Rex said walking over the agility wire and near the obstacles. They towered over Rex and made Kendall loom even smaller. She looked up and asked

"Are we going to meet anymore members of the pack?"

    Rex snapped his fingers  as if remembering something, and turned around and made a loud yip. With that, from a door on the other side of the room, four boys, all looking around their early 20s, and they all ran out and stopped in front of Rex, ignoring the wolves fighting and their pack leader, and eyed Kendall a little. Rex made a slight frown and cleared his throat to get their attention. They all looked at Rex and he said, frown turning into a content smile,

"This is Kendall. She is new to the pack."

    There was a brunette with violet colored eyes, a black haired boy with green eyes, a dirty blond with brown eyes and, a blond with deep blue eyes. They all were kind of handsome but they just seemed a little immature. The boy with the black hair said, a slight grin on his expression and a British accent escaping him,

"Hello there, love. I am Alec, one of the protectors of the pack."

"I'm Zachary, and this is my brother, Steven", said the blond boy, referring to the dirty blonde as his brother.

    The last one, who was silent just waved at Kendall and made a hand motion to Rex. He seemed really shy, to Kendall, and not as immature as the other boys were. He seemed different.

"Kendall, this is Xavier. He's mute so he can't talk at all, not even telepathically."

    Xavier nodded and made a slight smile at her. Rex looked at Kendall and gestured if she was ready to meet the other pack members. She nodded and said bye to the boys, Derek, and the wolves practicing. The took a small glance at Xavier and Hunter and then turned to leave.

Not the longest chapter but I didn't really know what to put in it :P hope you still enjoy!!
