     Gulf was reluctant to meet her family that night. Grain greeted her with the same enthusiasm, but her mother stayed silent as she organized the collected fruit and grasses for their meal.

      "Uh, hi Mom." she clicked quietly.

      She gave no reply, only shaking some sand out of her eye by moving the whole thing to the side and then back.

     "Are you gonna talk to me?" Gulf chirp-whispered.

      She sighed, setting down the grass in her claws, "You are so lucky I'm not telling the elders."

      "What?" Gulf and Grain said at the same time.

     "I'm not telling them, solely because I don't want to risk losing you."

      Gulf remembered how she had many rules on her shoulders in order to keep staying with the crabs.

     "But if you ever go to see a dragon ever again, I will have to do something." She turned her eyes to look at her son, "Grain, I'm putting you in charge of keeping her in line."
