"He went in there." Mussel squeaked, pointing with his claw at a space of jungle.

"Do you know why?" Gulf asked.

"W-We were just talking about you, all good things, and he just bolted out of nowhere." Mussel explained.

He went to find Kobi. Gulf realized, "Oh, no." she groaned in worry as she went off after him into the forest.

How could he be so stupid. Gulf thought as she searched for him among the leaves, she knew he was just trying to help her, but he was still so so stupid.

Suddenly she heard crab chirps getting gradually closer to her, frantic screams.

Gulf looked down to see Grain burst out of the leaves of a bush.

She extended a raven colored talon for him to use as a ladder to climb up onto her shoulder.

"Grain, what were you thinking?" she chirped.

Grain curled up in his shell, "They're coming." he squeaked.

          "What?" Gulf said, "Who's coming?"

"Them!" Grain pointed a claw out in the direction he came.

Gulf listened, she heard two dragons speaking in their tounge

"It was a hermit crab!" the first one exclaimed.

"Yucca, I've never seen a hermit crab this far into the forest." said the second.

Isn't Yucca like, a type of potato? Gulf thought, Is she talking to a potato?

"No, really, Calypso," a dragon emerged through the leaves, she looked like a pretty purple RainWing with orange and pink markings, but she had SeaWing lights, like Gulf, A hybrid? she wondered, "It had pinchers and a brown shell."

The dragon turned her head to notice Gulf. By the way her jaw hung open slightly, and the expression in her tangerine eyes, Gulf could tell she was surprised to see her.

I probably look especially weird to her. Gulf thought, cheeks growing hot as she glanced at the crab on her sand-colored SeaWing shoulder.

"What is it?" a blue RainWing with gills and SeaWing lights remarked on the silence, but then discovered the origin of it herself.

Gulf opened her mouth to introduce herself, but then began to feel the stinging claws of suffocation reach around her neck as her gills went dry.

She gasped for breath, stumbling to the ground so that Grain had to leap off into a pile if leaves, panic blowing even more air from her chest. Her head began to grow dizzy.

But then, as if by magic, it lifted, and her gills were instantly wet again.

      "What happened?" she asked weakly.

"It's okay," Yucca said, "I used my magic to help you."

She must be an animus dragon. Gulf realized, she knew about them from Kobi's stories, even thought they were often evil.

Although everyone in the area was reasonably terrified, Gulf, for some reason, got a feeling that this was the start of something good.
