What is a soul?

A soul is someone's lips on yours that in the moment feels right but can change just as quick as their tongue breaks it's way in and you try to pull back.

It's when something that is suppose to be sweet ends with harsh words as your back hits a wall and you say no but get overpowered because you're seen as nothing more than a tease.

It's when everything starts ok but then his hand is roaming and reaching for your pants button as you try to pull it away but it snakes its way into your pants and you can't fight because it's "his right".

What is a soul?

It's as he pulls her shirt off and works his way to getting her pants off, as she struggles to get him to stop but he uses force. What is a soul?

It's when he pushes her on the bed as her eyes fill with tears and she begs him to stop but he doesn't. It's when he takes what he believes belongs to him because she said she "loved him", as he takes what can never be given back and she cries from the pain.

What is a soul?

It's when his teeth tear at her skin and she stops begging for him to stop because she believes she deserves it for not being good enough.

What is a soul?

It's when this becomes routine, when it becomes routine for him to force her saying she owes him this, that she belongs to him.

What is a soul?

It's when he calls her a good for nothing one day and babygirl the next thinking it will fix everything. It's when she curls into a ball, knees pressed against her chest crying, asking god what she did wrong to deserve this type of punishment.

It's when she knows what he has done to her is called but won't say anything because she's scared no one will believe her. It's because she doesn't want to get him in trouble even though he has only caused her pain. It's when she still lets it happen because he's told her no one else will love her, so she stays.

It's when she reached the end and is standing on a ledge asking for forgiveness.

It's when another abuse and rape case ends in a suicide because the victim is too scared to speak up and thinks that's the only way to end the suffering.

What is a soul?

It's when the guy moves on to do it to another girl because he was never caught, because he believes he's obligated. It's when things work out for him in the end but couldn't for the girl.

What is a soul?

It's when everyone who heard her cries for help crowd around her body claiming "what a shame" it is that this had to happen. It's when the people who could've helped call it a pity and go on with their lives.

A soul is when people's true colors are revealed through their actions. Through their lack of concern, through their sense of justice.

A soul is a pity.

NOTE:
So I like how I wrote this and the topic I tried to tackle with this story. There are some parts that I will admit is written from personal experience, but this is a story that I wanted to write as a way to let go of the negativity in the past. I hope as you guys read this story you will find it interesting to read as it is also technically a fiction story just with some history. I liked how this turned out, so please do enjoy the story.
