One Shots

Eternity

When you close your eyes

The thing you think first is

"Will this be my last time"

Pray you'll wake to see the sun

Or best be late to meet the horsemen.

When you open your eyes

You feel the lurking presence

Shadowy and full of immortality

If you were to turn, would you see it?

Would this blink of your eye be the last?

Blink one, slow breath, silence

Blink two, cold chill, silence

Blink three, turn and look, silence

Eye to eye with the immortality

The creature that holds human mortality.

He beckons you to come

He promises a restful peace

A calm eternity with no worries

He speaks not a word but his thoughts say it all

You follow not knowing of your downfall.

He looks not of a horsemen but of an angel

"Know not of your heaven and hell

but only of your extinction"

You close your eyes for the last time

Slowly you drift down the aisles of the lost souls

Out of existence and into oblivion

Your lungs fill no more of air,

darkness takes over as you fall into an eternal slumber.

NOTE: Ok so I know this isn't what I usually post, but I had to write a thematic poem for my Ap lite. class. I am utterly in love with this poem and how it sounds so I thought I would share it.
