"I can't believe we're done with college!" Lia screamed as we were driving back to her house from our breakfast date. It's something we started doing once our first week of freshman year was through. Lia wasn't sure if the cancer was going to come back or not, so she wanted it to be like it was before by seeing me bright and early for breakfast everyday like when we were in high school.

"It was a long ass journey," I glanced over at her and smiled just as she did. "I'm glad you were with me every step of the way, baby."

"Me too," her hand slipped into mine that was hanging off of the center console. "I don't know if I could've done it without you."

"I don't know if I could've done it without you," I repeated her.

"I'm serious, Justin," the cutest giggle left her lips. "Like imagine if I didn't go into remission and stayed cancer free," she started, but I shook my head because I didn't want to think about that. "I'm just saying that I would have pushed you to go to college and pursue your dream. I wouldn't have wanted you to give everything up just to sit at my bedside and watch me wither away."

"But I would have done just that, baby. How could you expect me to leave you, like-like that?" I frowned. "All I ever want is to be by your side, no matter what we're doing."

"You're so in love with me," she playfully rolled her eyes.

"Well yeah," I grinned. "I love you with every fiber in my being, Lia. I actually don't think you understand how much you truly mean to me."

"I have an idea," she winked before putting the window down, letting the summer air come in. "I love you so much more, though."

I scoffed, "Bullshit."

"It's true," her shoulders shrugged and she rummaged through her purse, pulling her phone out. It always made me smile when I saw the picture of us together as her lockscreen. It was from our senior prom night.

"You know, I really love that picture

"You know, I really love that picture."

"What?" she questioned as she had already navigated to her Instagram.

"Your lockscreen."

"Prom," the corner of her lips curved up into a huge smile. "You looked so handsome, I say the best looking there."

"Please," I chuckled.

"We won King and Queen, so everyone else thought so too. I wish we could go back to that night. It was honestly so much fun, the music and everyone dancing."

"High school was pretty fun overall, I'd have to admit. Once you went into remission, it was like everything fell into place."

"It's because I was so trapped in my own body and then I was finally free!" she giggled. "I can't believe it's been four years, like if that isn't a miracle then I don't know what is."
