Today Shawn, Maya, and I are going to do some cake tasting and look at the venue for the wedding, but first things first I need to ask Maya another very important question.

"Hey Maya, are you almost ready?" I asked as I knocked on the bathroom door.

"Yes ma'am, I'll be out in a second," she answered back.

"Okay, take your time. I just want to ask you something when you're done."

"Hey Mom, so what did you want to talk to me about she asked as she took a seat on the couch.

I fixed myself so that I was face to face with her when I said, "Maya, baby girl," I smiled at her, putting her hair behind her ear. "I was wondering if you be my maid of honor?"

What? Mom, are you kidding me? Of course, I would love to be," she hugged me tightly.

"That makes me so happy, sweetie," I smiled, hugging her back.

"Okay lovelies, are we ready to go?" Shawn appeared in the living room.

"Yes, I think we are," I smiled at him and then looked at Maya.

"Where did you come from?" Maya asked Shawn as we headed out the door.
"I was in the bedroom getting ready and I might have been listening in on a conversation," Shawn said as we got in the car.

"So, you heard then?" Maya asked, getting in the backseat.

"Yes, I did," he smiled.

Once we got to The Garden, Shawn pulled up the gravel driveway, which led us to this white- grayish building. A young woman that looked to be in her early twenties with red hair, blue eyes, her skin fair came out as we were getting out of the car.

"Hey Shawn, it's nice to see you again," she said, hugging him. "You must be the bride to be?" she turned to me and smiled, holding out her hand for me to shake.

I smiled and took her hand, saying "Yes. Yes, I am."

"And you must be Maya?" she said, smiling at her this time.

"Yes, ma'am," Maya said, returning a smile.

"Shawn told me he had a daughter, but he didn't tell me how beautiful you were."

Maya looked at Shawn before looking back at Lauren, telling her thank you.

"You're welcome. So, shall we look at the inside of the venue?" she asked, looking at all of us.

We followed her to the door and she held it open for us. As we walked in I saw that the walls were brick with what looked like Moss on them, chandeliers for lighting hung from the ceiling,

"Okay, I'm going to take you out back where most of the weddings happen. Now if you don't want to have the wedding out here, that's fine, I can show you some of the rooms we also use for weddings."

"Okay," I said as we followed her to where she was taking us.

"And this is why we call it The Garden."

She stepped out of the way to let us come out, and when I did, I was speechless there were flowers everywhere, any kind you could think of. That's when an idea struck me. "Hey Lauren, I just had an idea."

"Yes ma'am," she smiled at me.

"I was wondering if you could make flower crowns for the girls that are going to be in the wedding?"

"Yes ma'am," she said. "When we're finished with everything, we can work something out. "

"Okay. Hey, I don't mean anything by this, I'm just curious. You seem young, how did you get to be interested in doing weddings?"
