Lin was at home with little Cala, playing with her on the floor with her toys. Cala kept on asking where her mommy was, and Lin kept telling her that Shyla was swimming. Lin wondered if her daughter had drowned in that water yet, and hoped so. With Shyla out of her way, she'd be able to be with Tarrlok without her daughter intruding on their personal love life.
And to think, Lin still would have loved her daughter had she not rescued Amon first before her own mother. Lin laughed to herself, recalling how she'd tricked Amon into killing Shyla. Surely Shyla wouldn't want to live after her best friend had tried to kill her, would she?
Lin was startled by a knock on the front door. Who could that be? Kyo was dead, and Lin wasn't expecting anyone. Lin made her way to the door quickly, shocked when she found Shyla, soaking wet, fuming at the door. Without a word, Shyla snatched the vase off the front porch and whipped it at Lin's head. It shattered instantly, and the next thing Lin knew, she was in the hospital.

At exactly 10:00 sharp the next morning, the nurse came into Lin's room. "Miss Bei Fong? Someone is here to see you."
Lin squeezed her eyes shut. "If it's my devil of a daughter Shyla, you can tell her she can march right back out because I do not want to see her."
The nurse frowned. "No. It's a man. Says his name is Tarrlok."
Lin's eyes flew open. "T-Tarrlok?"
The nurse nodded. "Do you want to see him?"
Lin wasn't sure. Tarrlok hated her. Maybe he'd come to tell her that no matter how much he detested Shyla, Shyla was right to ram that vase into Lin's skull. But it was a possibility that Tarrlok had come to apologize. After all, they'd been getting along marvelously and had loved each other so much before Tarrlok had found out Lin had killed Seisha. Maybe Tarrlok didn't love Lin anymore and was just coming to see what had happened. But she still loved him.
Lin finally sighed and looked at the nurse. "Let him in."
The moment Tarrlok stepped inside, the nurse exited the room and closed the door, allowing them some privacy. Tarrlok stared at Lin. He looked tired and confused and angry. Lin wanted to kiss the anger right off of him, but she knew she shouldn't move too fast. First, she needed to try to get him to understand why she killed Seisha. He had to understand. If Seisha was still alive, she would be with Tarrlok right now.
"Tarrlok-" Lin started, but he cut her off.
"No. Listen to me. I know that you got rid of my Seisha and I know you want to be with me, but how-how can I be with a murderess?! I mean, there's nothing wrong with being a murderess, but the fact that you killed someone so important to me! You know how that makes me feel? What it does to my heart?? You know what that says about you?"
Lin squeezed back tears. "Babe, I only did it to be with you! I love you! More than anything in this world. More than my own granddaughter! Besides, Seish wasn't as good for you anyway. She was too young. But look at you and me, we're basically the same age! I would murder everyone in the world if it meant I could be with you! I would-"
Suddenly, she stopped talking as Tarrlok crossed the room. He stood directly in front of her. After a few seconds of staring at each other, Tarrlok gently got on the bed and took her in his arms. He began to kiss her neck, and she just let him, surprised. Then, she began to kiss him back, and when the nurse walked in ten minutes later, she found them making out as if there was no tomorrow.
Tarrlok was tapped on the shoulder, and when he glanced over his shoulder, the nurse stood smiling at him. "I need to check Lin's head so she can go home."
Lin felt Tarrlok's heavy weight lift off of her, and she hated that nurse for interrupting their make-out session. The nurse checked her head and allowed Lin to go. Tarrlok drove Lin home. Home being his house, where they made out some more.
Being with Tarrlok made her so happy. He made her forget her head injury. He made her proud that she'd killed Seisha. He made her want him more than anything in the world.
Before things went too far, however, Lin pulled away from him gently and said, "You know, as much as I want to stay here, I need to be going home to Cala. She is probably home with her stupid, useless mother." The thought of Shyla being in her house with Cala, who was mostly her responsibility, made Lin cringe. Lin hoisted herself up from the bed and sauntered out, blowing a huge kiss to Tarrlok.
As soon as Lin was out, Tarrlok hurried through the front door as well. "You didn't think you'd be able to get home without a car, right?" He gestured toward his vehicle. "Get in, honey."
Honey. She loved how he'd called her honey. It sounded as if they were a married couple. It gave her hope. One day, they could be a married couple. Waking up next to Tarrlok every morning for the rest of her life would be the best feeling ever.
The two got in the car, not speaking a word, and he started the engine. After a few minutes of driving, Tarrlok said, "Baby, you know how many people have dying wishes when they know they're going to pass on?" Lin nodded, and Tarrlok continued. "Well, Seisha's...it was...to marry you. And with the way you and I feel about each other, that's not going to be a problem for me." He looked at her sideways. Lin couldn't believe her ears. If Seisha had said that she wanted Tarrlok and Lin to marry, Lin was happier than ever that Seisha died.
"Tarrlok, I would feel like the luckiest woman alive if I could marry you," Lin breathed.
And with that, the two were kissing like mad inside the car, much to the annoyance of other drivers, who had to go around them.
Lin and Tarrlok finally made it to Lin's house, and Tarrlok offered to come in with her in case Shyla was there. But when they entered the house, Shyla was nowhere to be found...and neither was Cala.
