A Light In A Dark World [ON HOLD]

Chapter 10

Chelea got put of the hospital a week ago, but Keath has been there for almost a month now while I've been planning the rebellion with Jane and everyone. I regularly hang out with Drew because I couldn't take his sadness anymore and I forgive him, so he is back to his annoying ways again. Finding new ways to torture me.

Today we were sitting on the hill again talking about our day.

"When do you think Keath is getting out of the hospital?"

"I don't know Tamzi, I hope soon." he answers.

"Yeah," I sigh as I lay there.

"Tamzi, there is something I need to tell you."

"What?" I ask

"I'm dating someone," what he says kind of makes me feel a tinge of anger or sadness.

"Why would I care," I answer a little too harshly.

"Well I'm dating someone you know."

"Who?"I ask eagerly

"Chelea."

"You what!" I get up quickly.

"Why does it bother you so much?"

"It... it doesn't,  it's just I gotta go," I run fastly through the trees to find Chelea.

Once I find her she is in the recreational room playing games. I grab her by the arm and pull her away from the games.

"How could you not tell me about Drew and you?" the smile leaves her face as I ask this.

"It's just that I didn't know how to tell you, and why are you getting so pissy about it." her face grows confused, then her face contorts into guilt," Oh, oh, I'm so sorry. I hope you didn't like him! OMG Tamzi, I'm so sorry! I'll end it right now, I'll be right back." I grab her arm again.

"Well, not that strong of feelings, but some, but don't worry I want you to be happy it's okay. My feelings for him are actually gone so feel free to date him."

"I don't kn-" before she can finish her sentence I cut her off.

"Believe me, I do not like him, okay." I say slowly as if she didn't understand. She nods her head yes in defeat.

The next day as I'm out during my shift, which today is the grain plowing thing again, but as I'm working I stop and wipe the sweat from my forehead as someone approaches me. It's the assistant from the hospital and as she approaches me she is out of breath.

"M....Msss.....,"She takes a deep breath in and continues, "Ms. you told me to inform you if Keath was being released from the hospital, well he is being released right now."

I don't answer I just drop my plow and run as fast as I can to the hospital. As I get there I see Keath coming walking out of the hospital doors, we both grin at each other and I run towards him and wrap my arms around his tall, stocky, slender body, but as I do he cringes and pulls back.

"Sorry Tamzi, no cuddling for now, I'm still a little sore." he grins widely. I roll my eyes and smile back, oh, how I've missed his stupid jokes. He seems to read my mind," You missed me didn't you?" he quirks one of his eyebrows up.

"What me," I ask gesturing to myself,"not at all," I say a little sarcastically.

"My nurse told me how often you checked up on me, apparently you checked up on me more than the mother that I haven't seen for 13 years." he keeps his eyebrow quirked.

I can feel my face grow hot, I throw my arms up in defeat," I was worried, okay!! What do you expect?"

He laughs while interlocking our arms as he ushers me to the clearing.
