Laying down in your own bed can be one of the most enjoyable things in life. After we killed the demons all I could think about on the subway back to the Institute was my bed. Clary assumingly seeing my distant look asked what was wrong.

"Just tired that's all " Jace, upon hearing that made a noise similar to a pig's snort,

"And what exactly did you do during the fight that caused you to be so unbearably tired Skylar?" mocked Jace, "Or is it something else?". His look conveying his want for me to tell the others about the nightmares I've had recently.

"While you all took on that one demon there were two more on the floor above that Simon and me had to deal with", I smirked, giving him my best try my look.

"Whatever" he mumbled.

"Hey, anyone wants Taki's, Magnus is there waiting for us", asked Alec. Everyone around me murmured yes. I stood up saying,

"I'm not actually that hungry, I'll just meet you guys at home" and got off the subway. Truth be told I was starving but didn't feel like being the seventh wheel, fun right? walking back to the institute my mind went over everything we have in the kitchen and remembered that we still had a packet or two of ramen noodles left.

After getting back to the Institute and eating my noodles I headed up to my room content with being able to finally sleep. The past few nights I've barely gotten any sleep, the nightmares making sure of that.

-----

I woke up to the sound of my door opening. Groggily I wiped my eyes and checked the clock next to my bed, 3:21 am.

"What the hell do you want at 3 in the morning" I yawned at the intruder. Hearing a muffled laugh I sat up to see who it was, but the light behind the door cast a shadow over their face. From the height and build, I assumed it was Jace.

"Go annoy someone else Jace." when he didn't move I sat up and threw a pillow at him (which he, of course, caught with ease) hissing,

"You know I haven't been sleeping well and now when I'm finally able to sleep you feel the need to come and wake me up!"

"And why is it that you haven't been sleeping well?" asked a cold voice. Fear coursed through me, the figure in my doorway wasn't Jace. Scooting back in my bed I reached under the pillow to grab my knife only to have the figure towering over me grabbing the hand that held the knife.

"Now, now" he tsked "That isn't the way you greet company". He plucked the knife from my hand letting go of my wrist in the process. The fear now intensified, I had no weapons and if he was as skilled as Jace, no chance of fighting him off. So the only other option was one that would probably get me killed, but may at least get him killed as well.

I started to scream at the top of my lungs, but before I was even able to get even a millisecond of the sound out his hand was firmly clasped over my mouth.

"Lets not wake the others shall we", he crooned with that stupid smirk plastered on his face. So I bit his hand.

"Dammit you bitch" he seethed. The last thing I saw was his hand coming down and feeling of pain radiating from my face.
