Yesterday was the best anniversary and birthday. J is perfect. He's everything I've ever wanted. But was I really what he wanted?

Earlier that day...

"Jen." Jack glared at me.

"Fine." I giggled, placing his phone back down on the table.

"Let's invite some people over for a barbecue." I suggested.

"I'm up for that." J mumbled.

He's been weird all morning but I ignored it.

"I cook, you barbecue, and the rest of y'all can invite people. " i pointed to jack first then the rest of the guys.

As I was making a salad, someone's hands snaked around my waist. I assumed it was J, leaving him be.

"Not gonna push me away?" Sam asked.

"Sam!" J shouted from the couch.

I turned around to look at him.

"I swear on everything I thought he was you." I frowned at J.

"If she'd known it was sam, she would've pushed him off Johnson." Nate added.

J got up and went into the back. I pushed sam away from me and went out back.

"You're not inviting her?" J asked jack.

"Jen doesn't like her and I don't like her. " jack squinted at him.

"Because she had a thing for me?" J scoffed.

Lauren.

I turned around and went back inside. I continued to make food when there was a knock on the door. A group of people came in.

"Swazz." Nate greeted one.

"You're Jen, right?" Another guy asked me.

I nodded.

"Derek, Derek Luh." He smiled.

I smiled back. A group of girls followed as well. J came back in the house and looked straight at Derek who was looking down at me.

"Jacks little sister?" A guy asked Derek.

Derek nodded.

"Damn, who knew the Gilinsky family had such good genes? I'm Jacob. " he looked me up and down.

"Jen." I fixed my skirt.

"Hey." J came over and 'bro hugged' them.

I stood there awkwardly as they talked.

"You've met Jen?" J rose an eyebrow.

"Yeah." Derek looked at me then back at J.

"I'm gonna go bring jack some plates. " I mumbled before walking off.

I could feel them staring at me as I walked off. I walked out and leaned against the grill.
