Chapter 17: Sacrifice

Jake: "(panicking) What is the second half!?"

Daniel: "Jake calm down. That can give us an edge."

Jake: "How does the second half fit in the puzzle of my life."

Nero: "Now that you know you bear my blood, can you stand against me, controlling your brother?'

Jake: "Why?"

Luis: "Jake, pull yourself together and beat the crap out of him."

Luis smacks Jake in the face.

Jake: "Why did you do that?!"

Luis: "Right now we have a world to save and here you are crying over your own puzzle of life. Which one of us here cares about that now!"

Annabelle: "Just snap out of it and fight!"

Ethan: "I didn't join the cause to find the leader crying last minute!"

Daniel: "Keep your cool and let's fight!"

Jake: "You're right. Let's beat the soul out of him!"

Dillon: "Now that is the Jake I remember."

Nero: "Are you done with your pep talk? Then let me cover these walls in your blood, finish the ritual and claim the pieces of Heaven's Hope and your pendants."

Nero draws the blade, Hell's Despair.

Jake: "I'm not going to let you use my brother for your own devices, so I'm going the beat the soul out of you!"

Narrator: "Jake and the others fight with blinding speed and precision, but Nero, even with only a piece of his soul, quickly changes the form of Hell's Despair with  even more speed and precision than them and landing strikes on everyone."

Luis: "Well isn't this great. He is blocking everything we throw at him."

Annabelle: "Let's try attacking in unison. Even he shouldn't be able to get all of us in one hit."

Jake: "That is all I hear about ideas, let's do it."

Narrator: "The six attack in six different directions at the same time, however...."

Nero: "Did you honestly believe that would work?"

Nero uses a technique unlike they had ever seen knocking out Dillon and Luis, and injuring Annabelle, Daniel, and Ethan to a point were they can't even stand."

Daniel: "What the hell was that?!"

Annabelle: "My thoughts exactly."

Ethan: "It appeared as if he changed his weapon form at lightning speed and released excessive amounts of his elements."

Jake: "Everyone! Fuck, fuck, fuck..."

Nero: "It is such a shame. I wanted to finish all of you in one hit, instead one of you managed to dodge at the last second, and of course it was you."

Jake: "How am I gonna take him out? If I couldn't do it with everyone's help, how can I do it on my own?!"

Nero: "Just give up. Accept your fate to drown in the despair your blood carries. Join me."

???: "....never forget...."

Jake: "The voice!"

Nero: "Serah! How can you talk to my grandson through the seal?!"

Jake: "That is the High Angel Serah?!"

Serah: "..resolve...."

Jake: "Now I have an answer for when I first got the word resolve. Now I have the resolve to fight!"
