i awoke in some strange place with no reconciliation of where i am or what happened. my head hurts a lot and i can barely move while in what looks like a hospital bed and the annoying loud beeping noise in my ear.
there's an ache in my body from my head to my legs and I start to panicked out of spite since i dont know where jacob is and i'm all alone.
a nurse passes my door and yells down the hall "he's awake!" i stare at her in confusion.
"hello i'm nurse tia, can you tell me how you're feeling on a scale of 1 to 10?"
i begin to speak but realize i can barely get any sound out and my throat feels scratchy. my heart rate speeds up out of fear as i try to speak and the beeping from the monitor in my ear keeps getting more consistent.
"it's okay take some deep breaths ... just blink the number you are feeling on a scale of 1 to 10" she says
i blink 5 times.
"you probably can't speak because you havent spoken in a whole day and your throat needs water" she says while putting a cup of water up to my lips. i couldnt really move so i try my best to swallow.
i clear my throat a little, though it's hard whenever i move i feel like a giant boulder is adding more pressure to my body and it hurts.
"do you need any pain medicine for anything?"
i nodded yes
"i'll be right back ... also since you're awake, do you want me to call your family to visit?"

i nodded a big yes, and i felt like a child that didnt know how to speak yet and wanted a big lollipop.
