Lausyn's POV
I don't know how to feel anymore.. I don't want to be mad.. but I am.. I don't want him.. but I do.. why is life so difficult?

"Lausyn! Wake up! Time for school!" My mom yells through the door,"I also have a surprise."

I groan and finally get out of bed.

I get ready and go downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen and see a young guy around my age.

"Honey, this is our new neighbor, AJ." My mom introduces, putting her hands on his shoulders.

"Um.. hi, I'm Lausyn." I greet with a smile, offering my hand.

"Hello, I'm AJ. AJ Mitchell" he smiles, happily shaking my hand.

"So are you coming to my school?" I ask him.

"Yes, and I would love to walk to school with you." He smiles, making me laugh lightly.

"Of course, I'd like that." I smile.

I look back at my mom, and she legit looks like the heart eyes emoji. I give her a glare, and she laughs.

"You two be safe." She says, trying not to laugh.

"Yeah, thanks mom." I sat through gritted teeth, pulling AJ towards the door.

"Oh um. Bye, Ms. McBride." AJ says quickly, with a wave.

My mom laughs and waves back.

Once we're out the front door, I let out a long breath.

"What was that about?" He asks, laughing slightly.

"My mom. She can be a bit of a pest sometimes. But moms. Can't live without them." I laugh, making him smile.

"I like you laugh. It's cute." He smiles and grabs my hand.

I blush,"Thanks."

"Shall we?" I say in my best British accent.

"We shall." He copied me, making me laugh.

We walk to school.

Once we reach there, we walk to the office to get AJ's schedule.

"Here you go, sweetie." The office lady smiles,"well aren't you two darling together?"

"Um we-"

"Thank you." AJ smirks.

I give him a look and pull him out of the office.

"What do you think you're doing?" I whisper, trying not to make a scene.

"Just having fun, Lausyn. What period do you have right now?"

"Um.. music." I say after remembering that it's the last quarter.

"Oh em gee! Same girl!" He fangirls, making me laugh.

"Let's go, white girl." I smile and pull him upstairs.

Once we reach the classroom, we sit in the empty two desks near the front.
