After that little cliff jumping trip instead of going out to eat Dallas and I decided to just go back to the house. I was really tired just because every night we would stay up till three o'clock in the morning doing only God knows what.
"What do ya wanna do when we get back to the house Dal?" i asked. "Don't know, guess we'll figure out soon." he replied back. I just figured we would hang out like we did the other night.
We pulled into the driveway, i loved just staring at the house sometimes. It's just so gorgeous. Shining windows, jagged stone, gorgeous flowers.....just anything you could imagine was there. "Dal this house is gorgeous i just want to sit out here for hours and just stare at it" i said quietly. "you know what else is gorgeous?" he asked. I saw this one coming. "What Dal?" i asked sarcastically pretending to be confused. "You" he said kissing my lips lightly. "you're cute" i said to Dal. He doesn't like being called cute but this time he didn't care.
"Wanna just sit here and stare at the house?" Dal asked. "You can go inside if you want" i said back. "No, i wanna stay with you here" He said hopping over the side of the car and grabbing a blanket from the trunk. He laid the blanket down on the hood of the car and motioned for me to sit on it. "Isn't it gorgeous, i wish we had something like this in Tulsa. But at the same time i don't. I like how Tulsa is... rugged and tough. it just makes coming here ten times more of a luxury ya feel?" i said. "Yea i feel ya" Dal said with a yawn.
It wasn't late, It was around seven pm and the sun started to set. "Wanna watch the sunset" Dal said. "Ponyboy always tells me how i gotta watch more sunsets" He continued. "you?!...... sunsets?!" i said surprised. "Well i've never seen one before....
apparently they're something i'm gonna wanna see according to pony.". He said. "Yea then let's watch it". I said back."I can't see it that good from here" Dal said. He grabbed my hand and took me to the side of the house and began to climb up a ladder. "Dal where are we going" i asked. "The roof.... ya know get a better view" he yelled back. I climbed the ladder and sat next to Dallas on the roof of the house.
Wow. Dallas was right. You can see it better from up here. It's so gorgeous. I looked over to see Dallas looking right down at me. We made eye contact. I stared into his chocolate brown eyes as he stared into my crystal blue eyes. It wasn't an awkward eye contact but it was meaningful. For the most part Dal has a cold stare in his eyes even when he's talking to me but right now, there isn't a cold stare.
Dal had a thoughtful, caring stare written across his eyes. He leaned down and began to kiss me.It was like a movie. The couple sitting on the roof of a gorgeous house kissing with the sunset in the background. I wish i had a picture but i know this moment would be in my mind forever.
Dal broke the kiss "Hey i kinda feel liek watching a movie, ya know there's a TV here and everything" he said excitedly. Usually we go to drive ins to it's gonna be cool to watch a movie just sitting in bed. "I've never watched a movie off a TV. Usually at the Curtis's Mickey's always on. And my room at Bucks doesn't have a TV" Dal said.
It wasn't that uncommon to have a TV back then but it also wasn't ever common. Especially on the Greaser side of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Dal put on some random beach movie just like all the rest. The lifeguard sees a beautiful girl drowning in the water. He runs in and saves her and they live happily ever after in love and all that shit. The usual movie. We still watched it event though we probably saw it about eight times.
Something about laying in bed next to Dallas made me feel so safe. Like i had nothing to worry about. He just made me feel like no one would hurt me when i was with him. It wasn't just a feeling but it was the truth. No one would even try anything when i'm around Dallas. They know what he would do. That's what I loved about Dallas. Even though i could get jumped any second... If i was with Dallas i was safe. No one fucks with Dallas Winston.
