Sirius emerged from the shower and walked across tile floor leaving tiny puddled of water in his wake on the porcelain tile floor. He reached across the silver-toned chair and grabbed at the large bath towel and wrapped it around his waist and exited the bathroom, his eyes searching the darkened room. With a wave of his hand, the light were illuminated and he found that his bed was empty. He sighed heavily as he walked across the plush carpeting; reaching his bed, he pulled at the duvet and sat down on the edge of the mattress and stared at the oriental design of the carpet.
In the room adjoining his, Hermione lay in her bed, with only Crookshanks curled up in her hair to keep her company; in her hand was the little plastic compact that held her contraceptive; she sat up abruptly, startling Crookshanks and threw the compact across the room as hard as she could. She heard it hit the wall on the opposite side of the wall. She'd been laying there for hours while Sirius visited with Ally and their baby and she realized that Sirius was in love with another girl...just because she was less than six months old was of little comfort.
Her thoughts returned to her own father and how he had told her many a time that all daddies adored their little girls, said that it had everything to do with reaching deep down inside in order to love and nurture someone selflessly and that it was a good thing...
She prayed that was all it was...She rolled over on her side, and closed her eyes.
Meanwhile, Sirius lay on his plush bed alone, reminding him harshly of his wrongful incarceration in Chez Azkaban. He closed his eyes, praying that he wouldn't experience any nightmares as he waited for the Dementors to show their non-faces to him.

A sliver of sunshine peered through the thick brocade drapes and found his eyes, momentarily blinding him and he turned away from it to see a dark silhouette of a man. He reached his hand stealthily beneath his pillow and withdrew it, sat up and pointed the wand at the intruder, only to find that there was no one with him, except a warm body laying next to him; lighting the tip of his wand, the only thing he saw was the petite frame and the frizzy hair of his Hermione.
He lay down and circled his arms around her. Her eye fluttered open and she smiled as she wrapped her arms around his. "Morning," she whispered.
"Morning Sunshine. Are you still upset with me?"
She shook her head. "Noooo..."
"Hungry then?"
She rolled over and nestled her body tightly to his as she shook her head.
"Just want to lay here and go back to sleep then?"
Hermione shook her head again.
"Well..."
Hermione gently placed the palm of her hand on his bare chest and pushed him on to his back; his eyes latched on hers as she crawled over him and leaned down to place on him, a tender kiss, her hair falling around their faces, shrouding them in momentary darkness. She sat back up and breathed in deeply, tilting her head. Sirius was reminded of one of the things that drew him to her...it was the way she moved, how she seemed to have the ability to see through him, almost controlling him, definitely keeping him in check. She reached out her arms, taking his hands in hers and pulled them above his head and he heard her whisper quietly, felt magic ropes at his wrists securing his hands to the headboard, her eyes searing through him every second; he hadn't noticed her wand until she lay it on the pillow next to his.
Sirius was intrigued and let her take control...something that she didn't do all that often. He felt her impale herself onto him, feeling her warmth surround him. She rocked her hips as her nails traced the magical runic tattoos on his torso and shoulders; Sirius closed his eyes and felt himself spill his seed deep within her and she smiled triumphantly as she untied his wrists from the ornate metal headboard. He rolled her over and lay over her, breathing hard from the exertion of not being able to move.
"Where did that come from Sunshine," he asked in a low voice as he traced the outer rim of her ear with his tongue.
"Not sure," she admitted.
"Well, I loved it," he replied.
"I could tell..." She smiled in his ear and let him make love to her again.
Spent, sleep came fast for him and she left him to clean up for the day. Upon leaving the bathroom, did she find Ally walking a cranky Penelope through the corridor.
"Is everything alright," Hermione asked with concern.
Ally rolled her eyes, looking incredibly tired. "She has her father's disposition, I'm afraid."
"Oh joy," Hermione groaned. "Would you like a break?"
"Please don't take any offense to this, but do you know anything about babies?"
"I lived in a muggle neighborhood and used to babysit all the neighbor's little ones."
That was all that Ally needed to hear. "Well, that's more than I knew. I haven't slept at all..."
Hermione held out her arms. "Ohhhh! Please, give her to me and get some rest! If I need you, I'll definitely let you know. Do you have bottles for her?"
Ally nodded and motioned for Hermione to follow. Once inside her room, she showed her where the bottles full of breast milk were as well as a full diaper bag full of changing supplies. "You should lay her with her Daddy and let him deal with her," Ally sniggered.
Hermione grinned mischievously. "I just might do that after she's fed and changed."
Ally grinned and nodded and placed the screaming baby in her arms. And to their astonishment, Penelope ceased her wailing. "Whoa," Ally whispered, her expression was one of awe. "She likes you..."
"Well, I should hope so! I don't want her to think of me as her evil step monster!" Ally, giddy from sleep deprivation, laughed heartily and Hermione slipped the bag over her shoulder, then pointed to the bed. "Get some rest, M'Lady..."
"Yes, M'Lady," Ally replied as she curtsied.
Hermione shook her head and chuckled as left the room. She walked through the corridor and passed one of the maids and stopped momentarily as the witch had not seen the babe the previous evening. The woman was easily in her fifties and relayed that she knew Sirius when he was a boy and she kissed the child's brow, marveling at the resemblance between father and child. She then looked into Hermione's eyes. "It'll be your turn soon Madam. You'll see."
"I hope so," Hermione said forlornly. "The family needs a true heir."
