I am not like my father.

I have never been, and will never be.

I don't agree with the list;

The list carved into stone,

The list prohibiting free choice.

Growing up around the list would cause skewed judgment,

Viewing individuals incorrectly and thinking them lesser.

This mildly affected me.

It settled unhappily in the pit of my stomach; 

Never properly digested.

Staying down due to cruel punishment.

I am not like my father.

I have always differed from his views, and I always will.

I don't agree with the list;

My stomach won't digest it.

However, my stomach will hungrily accept equality.

My stomach often sends signals to my brain, asking for it greedily.

A world of no discrimination,

A place without fear or terror for being who you are.

I am not like my father.

I will no longer suppress emotions to appease him, and I will allow them to bloom.

They will bloom and form fields of lustrous flowers,

I will laugh and allow others into my fields.

I will no longer punch down the list into my gut,

Hoping it will finally digest.

The list will evict from my body,

Shooting far away from my fields.

I am not like my father.
