The monster inside me

Sakura Festival

As the months went by and spring became apparent in the soul society I've seen a lot more captains and their lieutenants out and about lately as I was confused as to why. I was munching on a rice ball I made sitting on the fifth squad barracks and relaxing until Renji and Byakuya flash stepped next to me and I almost fell off getting freaked out with them appearing until flower boy held on to my hand and steadied me a bit. I shook my head as an angry mark appeared on my head glaring at them, "what the hell you two?! You don't just appear whenever you want near me! I could have fallen off the roof!!"

"I saved you though," Byakuya mentioned letting go of my hand.

"That's not the point! Now...what did you two need?" I said slowly calming down.

"Sakura festival is today and seeing how you're clueless of this event we'll help you out in picking your kimono." Renji explained with a grin.

Sakura Festival? I didn't know one was held every year since no one told me, "Sounds like fun, but what about Captain Aizen?"

"What about him? He'll be busy picking out his own attire and last I heard he told me he was planning something special for you later as a surprise. Not gonna tell ya what it is though." Renji replied.

I pouted at him, "all right fine," then I gave them a smile, "I guess we either go to the world of the living or a store that sells kimonos in the rukongai district. I vote dibs on world of the living!"

They both let out a sigh as Renji gives me a smile and messes up my head as Byakuya shook his head in amusement. We got our gigais and headed to the world of the living. I had on ripped jeans, with a black tank top with a built in bra, dragon necklace, and a comfy zip up hoodie along with my shoes. Renji's was pretty casual as well but Byakuya I guess I did a few double takes as he didn't have those things holding up his hair.

Byakuya gave me a slight smirk in amusement, "I guess my gigai does affect you Shizuki."

I gave him a snort, "yeah right..."

I was inbetween the two men as my eyes locked on to a store that held a kimono being displayed in a window that people could see from outside the store. This kimono didn't just look cool but it was awesome! There was a red dragon that started from the base and worked its way up to the neckline where it opened its jaws.

"Shizuki?" Renji stopped and looked over at me.

Byakuya stopped as well looking over at me, "she must have found the kimono she was looking for."

I squealed and pointed to the kimono in the window, "that one! I want that kimono for the festival!"

"We'll see how much it is ok?" Renji said pulling out the money he brought and counted what he had.

Byakuya walked over to stand next to me looking at the kimono then at me, "I'll get it for you."

I blinked and looked over at Byakuya then smiles, "I owe you one after this and thank you."

He patted my head gently, "you don't have to owe me anything."

I smiled more and ended up giving him a hug as Renji had his mouth wide open in shock as Byakuya was unaffected by my embrace but hugged me back anyway, "let's go get my kimono Byakuya."

He nodded as we let go heading inside the store getting the kimono plus paying for it and coming back outside to see Renji waiting for us. We were pretty much done here in the world of the living as Renji and Byakuya had their kimonos already or attire their planning on wearing for the festival.

It wasn't long getting back to the soul society in our normal soul reaper attire as we saw Toshiro, Rangiku, Kira and Momo waiting for us. They were in their festive attire too.
