Chapter 17

Lux's point of view again. 

I hurried to find Mr. & Mrs. Winthrop. I was shocked earlier to see Salia's eyes darken unnaturally. It meant her inner demon was starting to wake up. I was thrilled as was Lupin. I found Salia's parents in the living room. "I need to speak to you privately on something important please. It has to do with Salia and her heritage." I told them respectfully.

We went to Mr. Winthrops office where He shut the door and hesitated. "Is it good news or....?" he was wary to ask.

"I think, I'm not positive but I believe her Inner Demon is waking up" I told them quietly. They both looked shocked.

"My little Salia? She's received her Inner Demon?" her mothers voice quivered. Her eyes started to mist over but she looked a little unsure if she should be sad or not.

"You'll have to teach her Lux, since you have one. Niether one of us knows how to control one unfortunately." Mr. Winthrop told me as he wrapped his arms around his wife.

"I will. I swear it.  If it's not to much to ask may I use your office to make a call to my family and tell them? They'll want to know since they already know Salia is my Kepta." I asked.

"Of course. Please give them our greetings and tell them we wish them safety and well being." he told me as they walked out, closing the door behind them.

I prepared to call my family and have them drowned me in their exuberance. I chuckled at how excited I knew they'd be and dialed the number to the vacation house. My mom picked up.

"What wrong Lux? What's happened?" she asked before I could say anything.

"Get Dad and Tara and put the phone on speaker. I have some wonderful news." I told her, barely able to hold in the news

"Hey jerk, Salia just told me y'all were dating finally. So what's the news?" Tara teased. I just rolled my eyes and waited for dad.

"Salia's Inner Demon may be waking up. If it does she'll be like us." I told them in awe. There was a few minutes of stunned silence on the other end of the phone and then a cacophony of voices. I couldn't even understand what they were saying. "Hello? One at a time please. Hello?" I called into the phone before getting slightly frustrated and hollering "When you calm down you can get back to me. I'm going back to Salia. Goodnight" and then hung up.

I headed out and went to the kitchen to get My Sals and me something to drink. As I did so I smelt something awful. I turned to see Giyla slinking in, drenched in her awful perfume and dressed horribly. I felt Lupin snarl and cringe away as she approached. She walked up and started talking to me, attempting to be seductive.

"If you want a real woman to be with that can satisfy your every need I'm definitely available. That other girl can't do anything for you like I can." she attempted to purr, sounding more like a cat choking on a hairball to me.

"Leave me the hell alone. I want nothing to do with you." I snarled, feeling Lupin press to get out and wreak havoc against her. I closed my eyes, breathing hard and thought of Salia and her addictive scent. Lupin calmed down and I opened my eyes. I snatched up the drinks I'd fixed for us and stormed out, slamming the door in Giyla's face snickering at her surprised and outraged squeak. I hurried up to our room and opened the door and was surprised to see Salia wasn't in bed.

'Hurt. Our Kepta is hurt' Lupin told me.

"Salia? Salia where are you sweetheart?" I called out.

"Lux? I'm in the bathroom and need some help. I hate to ask you but could you help me please?" Salia's voice was tinged with embarrassment.  I walked into the bathroom to see her sprawled out on the floor, barely covered by a towel she'd drug over her.

"What happened? Are you ok?" I asked as I rushed to her.

"Yes, I'm ok. I just slipped and hurt my shoulder and ankle. I can't get up." she blushed and tried to cover more of herself with the towel. I felt the rumble of Lupins growl. He wanted to see more of her.

'Pervert' I thought to him.

'I'm not. She's my Kepta. I have the right.' He smarted off. I just rolled my eyes and slipped my arms under Salia and stood, pulling her close against me. I couldn't help but bury my nose in her hair and inhale her scent to calm both myself and Lupin. I walked to the bed and gently set her down and grabbed her bathrobe that was nearby. She put it on as I went to the bathroom to collect her pajamas and bring them to her. I was about to head to the bathroom to give her some privacy when her voice stopped me.

"Can you help me please? With my shoulder hurt it'll be hard to get my top on by myself. If you don't want to help I understand." she asked quietly.

Lupin growled in excitement and before I knew it I agreed to help. I had to keep focused on Salia's scent to keep Lupin from fighting his way out and showing himself to her. Salia covered her lap with the blanket and wrapped the towel around her chest so that helped restrain Lupin somewhat. After helping her slip into her shirt I went to get cleaned up and let Sals have privacy to put on her shorts. I walked out in nothing but my shorts and heard a slight growl and turned to see Salia's eyes were darker than usual. She seemed to snap out of her trance like state and regain control as she straightened up and her eyes lightened up once more. I claimed into bed and wrapped myself around her, burying my nose in her neck as I drifted off to sleep.
