I watched in awed fascination as Lux's eyes rapidly darkened till they were the deepest, most bottomless black I'd ever see.
"Hello my love. My name is Lupin. You are my Kepta. Together, Lux and I will teach you about your heritage. You may approach if you desire to." I heard in a much deeper, more gravely voice than Lux's normal voice.
I walked up slowly, hesitating. As I got closer I saw there were more differences than just his eyes. His nails had grown longer , more claw like. His teeth had elongated to resemble fangs. His muscles were more pronounced.
I reached out to touch him and heard Kyta practically purring in anticipation. 'Yes...touch him. Please do.' I had just touched the tips of my fingers to him when Giyla pounded on the door.
"Hey get out here. There's some stuff on the news."
I heard Lux groan as he turned back to regular him and shook as if he were shaking something off. "It's nothing, Lupin just doesn't want to go back. He wants to stay out and get to know you and Kyta" he said, noticing my concern. "Let's go on downstairs before they send a search party." He teased. I felt Kyta grumble as we walked out the door and went to see what the news said. I almost wished I hadn't as I watched bombs being dropped in what looked like Washington DC. I heard the news caster talking about how the president had been relocated and the infected had overrun everything. Suddenly out of nowhere a figure dove towards the camera, which appeared to be a helicopter. There was a scream, a gunshot then the view tilted and the ground rushed up. Everything went black before the news caster appeared in the home base, face ashen.
"They...they.." he stammered before regaining his composure. "I'm sorry but we have lost contact with the crew in DC. Please keep tuned for any more information which we will pass along as we receive it." Just before the camera cut-off we saw the young man put his face in his hands as if weeping.
"How much did we miss? What all is going on?" I asked, afraid of the answer.
"Several cities are a complete loss. Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC. There's even some states that are considered lost. Pennsylvania, Oregon, New Mexico, and Kentucky. They have also found out that somehow the virus has gotten to the UK. We don't know yet how bad it is." Dad answered me somberly. "The Government is bombing the biggest cities to try and kill off as many infected as possible."
"Has it helped any?" Lux asked softly. Mom shrugged in answer, to stressed to speak. I fell in to the chair behind me and leaned back, trying to process it all.
'Calm down. Breath in, now out. Back in, back out.' I heard Kyta coach softly. I followed her instructions and felt her calm me. I stood and headed to the kitchen, desperately needing a drink.
I poured a glass of tea, the scent of sugary sweetness reaching me. I drained it quickly and poured another, savoring it. I heard the swoosh of the door as someone walked in behind me and felt arms wrap around me. Lux pressed his lips to the back of my neck, sucking softly but still drawing a moan of pleasure from me. I felt him smirk against my skin before he nipped me. I turned and saw his eyes were darkening once more. I heard a snarl of want and realized it was me. Or maybe it was Kyta. 'You still there girl?' I asked cautiously.
'And where else would I be? Out for a walk?' she teased me in reply. 'That was all you in the snarl Salia, not me. Before you ask' Was the saucy retort, and it was almost like she winked at me. It wasn't something I saw, but rather felt.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to snarl. I'm still trying to figure out all of this." I ashamedly told Lux, looking down at floor. He placed his fingers under my chin and tilted my face up.
"Never apologize for that. It means you are attracted to me and find me desirable. I love hearing it from you. So does Lupin." He breathed right before giving me another knee weakening kiss. I could feel his hands slipping under my butt to pick me up when Giyla burst into the kitchen, ruining our moment.
"I need to get something for the new boy for when he wakes up. Lux be a dear and help me." She cooed, batting her eyes so much I wouldn't be surprised if she started flying.
"Let's go finish what we started earlier Sals. I can't wait to see what happens next." Lux ignored Giyla and lead me from the room, leaving a sputtering Giyla behind.
"Salia? Where's Giyla? Her 'patient' is starting to stir around. She fussed about saying she would care for him by herself. She needs to hurry up." Mom scowled in frustration.
"She's in the kitchen, said she was gonna grab some stuff in case he woke up soon." I told her as Lux tried guiding me up the staircase. She nodded and turned to the kitchen, intent on hurrying Giyla up.
"C'mon. Hurry Sals." Lux tugged my arm gently, trying to regain my attention.
"I'm coming. Keep your shirt on." I chuckled.
"Take my shirt off you say? Ok." Was his answer as he pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it up the stairs.
'Mine! Let's lick it or bite it...or both!' Came Kyta's voice as I lept forward driven by the need to feel his skin like never before. I saw his eyes darken as he caught me, sweeping me up against him and pressing me to the wall. I wrapped my legs around him, pulling him against me and rubbing against him and purring with no care as to who saw and heard me.
