Unknown point of view.
I've been hiding in this shed for the past few days. Ever since I walked by that bus and got jumped by that infected person. I remember my neighbor little ol Ms. Corla started chewing me out that morning just for accidentally stepping on her lawn. I wonder if she's ok? Not that I like her but still. Ah, she probably was. She never opened her door really. She'd probably beat any infected to death with her cane.
I chuckled ruefully as I scrubbed my face with my hands. I knew someone was alive in that big house there. I just figured it'd be easier and faster to hide in the shed behind the house. I knew because the big window that faced over the garden would switch between opened and closed and I'd hear voices sometimes. Not loud enough to tell how many or anything unfortunately. I wonder if they'd let me in? I was getting low on supplies and knew I'd have to sneak around till I got to a store or an empty house.
I'd just barely been able to sneak past those that were infected. I swear they must have super hearing and super smell. I decided to risk trying for the house. I gathered my supplies and looked out the window. Coast looked clear so I started to ease out. Just as I got halfway out I heard a snarl. Damn,it was that stupid mutt. Mean devil of a creature. And right behind it was three infected.
Shit!! I thought as I hurried to get back in the shed and closed the window. I heard the dog slam against the wall of the shed and I crossed my fingers it held up against the onslaught of the massive dog. I then heard the erie calls of the infected as they circled the building. I laid down on the floor and covered myself with bags of fertilize, praying it'd cover my scent enough to where they couldn't find me. I laid there for hours and felt sleep overtaking me. I kept trying to fight it off with less and less successe each time. The noise outside faded as I felt myself drift off.
I woke up to silence and darkness. I quietly slipped the bags off me and crouched, listening for any signs of movement outside the shed. I stayed still for so long my legs began to ache. I slowly and quietly stood up and peered out the window. The moon was high and I knew everyone in the house would be asleep so I'd have little to no chance of getting inside. I decided to go ahead and eat some of my dwindling supplies and drank one of my last bottles of water.
I damn sure hoped I could get out tomorrow. And I really hoped they'd let me in the house. I thought wistfully as I looked at it. I decided to try and get some more sleep just to help pass the time and curled up in the cirner. I woke up to a faint light and peeked out. The sun was just coming up. I opened the window and waited a few minutes before poking my head out. Nothing so far, and all I had to do was make it to that backporch door. I knew I was fast. All-star on the track team at my college. I didn't do like most guys and get lazy on off season, nah if anything I trained even harder. I slipped out the window and reached back to grab my sack and a pair of clippers as my weapon. I looked around and then sprinted to the door.
"Please! Please open up! I swear on everything that's good I'm not infected! Just please let me in!" I pleaded as I banged on the door. It cracked open a tiny bit.
"Who are you?" a gruff voice demanded. "What do you want?"
"I just want to come in please. I don't have to stay long. Just long enough to rest properly please" I begged.
The door opened and I was ushered inside. "Thank you! Thank you so much!" I cried with joy as I collapsed on the floor. I heard someone approach and looked up into the jaws of a massive muscled dog. My jaw hit the floor and I scrambled backwards till I hit the wall.
"Ridgey, be nice" I heard a young female voice scolding him. As I looked around I saw there were several people. An older married couple, a guy about my age, a girl about my age and the slightly younger girl I'd heard talking to the dog.
"What's your name boy? Are you ok?" the older man asked. "I'm Mr. Winthrop and this is my wife and daughter. That's her boyfriend and that's a gal that's about like you. Just looking for a safe place." he told me. I was about to reply when suddenly I passed out.
