We were at the local diner celebrating the end of the semester, it was nothing special like you see in the movies where there's kids at the local bar drowning themselves in alcohol. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure many of the kids of the legal age were down at the local bar, but not me or the small social group I'd picked up through the year.

"One semester down, another three years to go." Said the blonde on the opposite side of the booth elbowing Sam in the ribs playfully, Jessica.

We weren't especially close, but she was tolerated on my behalf anyway.

However, I didn't mind Brady and his sister Sam had picked up along the way, while not even attending the college. But we were one of the closes groups on campus, we weren't the 'let's hang out every day' sort of group but we didn't need too.

"And a new beginning as of next semester." Sam said, wide smile across his face as he down the last of his drink.

"I guess that means you're movin' out soon then?" I said in a joking manner, I quiet enjoyed his company as much as I enjoyed being alone, Jessica, however, didn't like my comment after Sam made a chuckle.

"That eager to get rid of me, huh?"

"Of course." I winked, downing the last of my drink and fries.

I was placed in the kitchen with my phone plugged into the small docking station over in the opposite room, playing currently was Heat of The Moment - I was on the kitchen bench drinking what must have been my third cup of coffee for the morning. Looking across to the cheap microwave across from me I checked the time 9am.

Time to wake this boy up.

"Sam!" I called from the opposite side of the apartments earning a groan in response, sliding off the counter I made my way across the building and towards Sam's room.

Knocking lightly, I waited behind the thick timber, another groan. Slowly I pushed the timber door open and placed my coffee mug down on the chest of drawers before looking at the larger mound laying in the centre of the room on the spare bed.

"Sam~." I called as a plonked myself down on top of him hearing him groan again as I moved trying to get him to wake. "You're gonna be late." I called in a sing song away.

"Hmm

"Hmm..." He groaned trying to push me away to roll over, which failed until he poked my rib cage making me squeal which got a sleepy chuckle from the man who was going to be late for his first day.

It took me another ten minutes to get him up and out of bed, making him later than he was going to be when I first went in at 9am.

I walked into the apartment after my last class to find the BFG spread out on the couch with his head under a cushion and soft snores coming out from under it. A soft smile spread across my face, as I quietly made my way across the house to get a blanket to put over him.

----
The apartment had been quiet as I sat in the kitchen at the small wooden table against the fair wall, sitting in front of my second hand laptop – there was no complaints on my behalf, it did its job – I sipped at the coffee I had made while typing away at my latest assessment for my Folklore and Mythology class, it was nice to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet while I was working – until there was a soft thud that was followed by a grunt in the opposite room.

Sliding my chair out from under the table I made my way into the next room to see what the thud and groan was all about. Entering the next room, the scene was revealed to me. Sam had been tangled up in his blanket – the one I had brought out to him earlier that evening- and he was on the floor between the  old couch and the coffee table.

Another grunt came from his direction as I tried to hold my laughter in.

"Hey, Sleeping Beauty." I said finally, with a smile plastered across my face.
