I watched as the pair paraded around the apartment carrying boxes of Sam's belonging from his room down to her apartment up the block. This back and forth had been happening since eight in the morning.

Slowly the cluttered apartment went from it's state of looking like it was actually owned back to as if a squatter was living in it.

Chewing at the edge of my nails Sam made his final trip out the door with a simple smile and I'll see you around.

Finally, my playful smile vanished from my pale face as I stared at the blank wall above the TV. My heart had fallen to the pit of my stomach when the lock of the main door made a clicking noise, signalling it was locked.

My once blue eyes faded to a washed out grey, my eyes on the verge of tears, as the emotions rolled over me of my best friend walking out that very door he'd walked in, only a few years ago looking for a place to stay.
