Chapter 41

"Cali... Please... Wait... I... Can't... Breathe!" I stop at the top of the stairs looking down at the crouching boy on the railing.

"Aren't you supposed to be in shape or something?"

"Um... I'm not in season..." He leaned back trying to catch his breathe. We just spend the last ten minutes running up these stairs.

"Come on Nash we have no time!"

I hear him groan behind me as I push through the emergency exit door.

"What room are they in?"

"Sixty... Five." Nash pants.

"Okay... Sixty... Sixty-one, sixty-two... Here sixty five!" I start pounding on the door.

"Come on come on they have to be in here!"

Harry's POV

The guys follow me up to her floor.

"What room?!"

"Room 36!" Niall shouted, I started to bang on the door but no answer.

"Come on!"

"Harry mate maybe she went up to our suite let's go look," Louis put his hand on my shoulder.

I push it off sprinting pass everyone to the elevator.

"Harry wait up man!" Zayn yelled.

"We have no time!" I pressed the button more than once.

The only thing I can hear are the out of breath guys behind me and the elevator door chiming open.

I pressed the 8 button waiting impatiently.

"Harry just relax you'll see her okay?"

"Liam you don't understand this is the first time in a month that I've seen her!" The doors pry open.

I sprint out of them "HARRY LOOK OUT!" Liam yelled.

I turned around still running looking at him.

"Wha-" I bump into something hard.

I heard a yell I open my eyes and I'm on top of someone "Cali?" I rub my temple looking at her.

She has a red mark on her forehead but stops rubbing it when she sees me.

We stand there looking at each other for what it seemed forever. I didn't care what was going on around me or who was talking to me.

The only person I care about is her.

"H-hi..." I manage to say.

She looks radiant, almost glowing.

"Hi yourself..." She laughs and her laugh, oh how I missed it.

"Oh!" I pull the journal out.

"Th-this is yours..." She reaches for it looking up at me.

"You have it..." She whispers.

"Yeah, your therapist gave it to me and I'm sorry if you didn't-" I was shut up by her arms around my neck.

I nuzzle my face into her neck breathing her in.

Becoming drunk by her presence.

I feel her let go and open up the book "a long time ago," she speaks "I met a boy. And boy was he irritating, always trying to flirt with me and really just getting under my skin."

She grins looking up at me "but then, every time he made me angry I fell in love with him. He was just someone I have never met before."

She has tears in her eyes but their joyful tears.

"See," she sniffs "he brought out the best in me. And for a year we didn't speak nor had contact. I was famous for running away and hiding my feelings. But this girl Sophia," she stops to look at Liam winking at him.

"Told me that I should end my story... But start a new one with him, the boy I love." My heart was melting and jumping just doing everything at once.

She sticks a paper in the journal and hands it to me.

I open it up "read it out loud..."

"It says, 'I love you'" I grin.

She smiles "I love you too Curls" I turn my head at the guys.

"Turn around" I mouth. They jump turning around laughing and snickering.

I see her tell the same thing to Nash, and smiles at me.

"I love you Cali... I love everything about you. I love you, you stubborn thing." She throws her head back laughing.

She wraps her arms around me with my hands at her waist.

"Did you kiss her yet?!" Niall shouts.

We both laugh "well California Jon-"

Her lips run into mine, finally! About damn time we kiss. I only waited for this for I don't know a year.

Her lips taste so sweet and the mint gum breath flows on my lips.

I feel her part "now what?" She asks.

"We begin our story... As boyfriend girlfriend."
