The next morning, Leo got up and got ready for school. He went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. His favorite thing for breakfast was waffles but they had ran out.
After he had some organic corn flakes he put on his Twenty øne pilots t-shirt with some skinny blue jeans, sneakers and a dark blue sweatshirt with the constellation Leo on it. He went and brushed his fur and then brushed his teeth.
He lived to far away from the high school to walk, and his mother being single and having 2 children, she worked a part time job at the most popular grocery store in town, and that means she can't drive them to school so they have to take the bus.
Lucky for Spirit she's feeling ill today and gets to stay home. Their mother works at a 'PawMart'. All the 'popufurs' get to shop there and spend a lot of money on expensive foods. Leo's family is not really the richest, so they don't usually shop there. He grew up that way. His mom only gets to works there because one of the last workers got hit by a school bus and had to quit due to bad injuries.
As Leo walks out to his driveway waiting for the bus, he thinks what he's gonna do when he gets to school, or even the bus.
About 15 minutes passed and there it was. The shiny yellow metal monster on wheels. He hopped on in, but wished he didn't. But if he didn't go his mother would find out and scold him. He sat at the very back in hopes no one would see him. But that didn't work. It never did. Harvey Swenson got on the bus at the next stop and went right back to where Leo was sitting, who was calmly reading a book.
"What ya reading nerd?" Harvey said with a mischievous smirk on his face.
"Oh, H-Harvey. I d-didn't see you there." Leo managed to get out as he sat almost paralyzed that Harvey would do his daily routine on the bus. "You didn't answer my question, L-E-O." He said Leo's name nice and slow. "What book are you reading? Huh?" Leo stared at him in shock that Harvey wouldn't care if the bus driver saw what he does to him every day. "Hey! I'm talkin' to you! Why ain't you answering me boy?" Harvey half yells at Leo. "I-I'm sorry H-Harvey. I'm r-readi–" "DON'T mumble wussy. Just tell me what fucking book you're reading, and I'll be on my way." Leo knew when he said that he'd leave he knows he won't. He'll just keep doing what he does every day. So he spoke in the clearest most courageous voice he could manage and looked Harvey right in his devilish eyes, in hope he'd at least leave him alone for the bus ride. "Sorry Harvey. Im just reading about the stars, constellations, planets, the moon landing, stuff like that. My backup book is The Chronicles of Narnia, the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, just in case I finish my other book. Now, if you don't mind, go be an ass somewhere else." Harvey stared at Leo in shock and some kids turn around and start laughing about how Leo had embarrassed him Then he comes so close to Leo that he can smell his breath that smells faintly of alcohol and cigarettes. Harvey whispers in his ear,"You just earned yourself a worse beaten today than any you ever gon' get boy..." He growled and punched Leo right in his stomach. It wasn't hard for Leo to not scream in pain or cry, because he was used to this. He wasn't ready for what happened at school though.Ahh hope this was a good chapter! Sorry bout the swearing just thought it seemed right.
So now you know what he faces on the bus. What happens at school though? Stay tuned!
