Leo's Story

Chapter 4: Accidents happen

          **Bullying and violence warning**
Leo walked to the gym where all the high schoolers meet up before classes. He went and sat down on the top of the bleachers and started drawing the stars. He had seen them so many times that he new what almost every constellation looked like.
All he was hoping for was that Mike came down with the illness Spirit has. It seemed to be going around and Leo hoped that Mike had got it. Mike used to be Leo's only friend, but drama separated them. They haven't talked since the huge argument they had and whenever they are together Mike ignored Leo and goes over by Harvey Dells. Of all people he could have as a new friend, he picked Harvey Dells. Whenever Leo catches Mike's eye he smiles at him, but Mike growls back. The friendship bond they used to have has disintegrated.
The bell rang and kids started running towards the gym doors. Leo lagged behind so he wasn't noticed by any of the popufurs who always make fun of him for being a nerd. Leo was ok with being a "nerd", but he didn't like being called one with the intention to hurt his feelings or make fun of him.
Leo suddenly hears a yell behind him. He swivels his ears towards the noise so he doesn't have to look. He knows not to look from past experiences. He knows it's Harvey, probably ready to do whatever he had to do to him.
"Hey Leo! I'm talking to you nerd!" Harvey yelled again. "Yes Harvey?" Leo remembered that Harvey didn't like when he mumbled. He tried to sound confident too but he doesn't know if it worked. Leo looked at Mike and gave him a look that said,"what's he gonna do?" But Mike just looked away. "Well I have something new to do today." Harvey said as a devilish grin creeped across his face. "Come with me twerp!" He said and started dragging Leo by the collar until they were out by the road. "What are we doing here?" Leo asked Harvey but Harvey ignored him. Leo looked at Mike questionably but Mike was staring at the ground. Leo could hear a car coming in the distance. Right before it passed Harvey pushed Leo towards the road to get hit. Leo shut his eyes tight and screamed, but didn't feel himself get hit. He opened his eyes to see Harvey holding him by the collar again. Mike was covering his face as if Leo had gotten hit by the car. Another car was coming and Leo gave Harvey a look that said,"Please don't.." But Harvey smiled and right before the car came he slipped and dropped Leo who fell right into the car.. things went black for a while but when he was somewhat conscious he noticed that he was suddenly on the side of the road, and all he could here was, "I'm so sorry Leo, so so sorry. I-I shouldn't have let this happen.. it's my fault, no one else's.. I ditched you when you needed me, and this happened.. " it was Mike. And the last thing Leo saw was Mike crying. And the all he wanted to do was hug him and say, "I forgive you." But darkness came too soon..
