He Came From the Stars and He Stole My Heart (Optimus Prime Love Story)

Chapter 5.

Katelyn found it rather hard to sleep due to her being beaten and broken and having pain shoot through her every time she moved so she just lay there looking at the inky black sky just outside the window and letting her mind wander for the moment, she was more than lucky that Cade had been kind enough to bring her back here and having his rather large family help take care of her the large guy with the bear like build and bushy beard had been with her most of the day changing the bandages and helping her to drink some water heck even mashed up some food for her so it would be easy to eat even though it was mush it was the best tasting mush she'd ever had and he said it brought some colour back to her face she thought for a moment trying to remember his name..Tom(Hound) that was't he was Tessa's uncle from what Cade told her a very distant uncle but family all the same then there were his two brothers Chang(Drift),Leo(Crosshairs) when it was't Tom watching her it was them and they were lively sometime's normally Shang giving Leo a smack for being rude but she enjoyed the talks with them then there were the other James (Optimus) and Billy (Bumblebee) Cade said James was an other distant uncle but he also saw him like a brother he never had and for Billy he was like a brother to Tessa though he was her distant cousin even though she did't believe what Cade told her she went along with it plus she could see how close they were a sad smile tugged at her lips her family used to be close like this but that had been along time ago and she was on her own now she snapped out of her thoughts when the door opened and she glanced at it seeing that it was James coming into the room.

"guess it's your turn to keep an eye on me right?" she asked.

"it is also i was told you have't been sleeping" he said walking over and sitting in the chair that Cade had sat in earlier.

"it's due to the pain every time a move..but guessing by the the state  i'm in it does't come as a shock" she said looking at him.

"indeed" he said back.

She sighed looking away from him for a second as they both became quiet she knew he wanted an answer to the question he had asked the other day about how she ended up like this, though she would rather not answer but she got the feeling that he was't just going to let this drop and even though she got the feeling he did't need words or keep pushing the matter something about James made her want to tell him after all Cade and everyone else had taken a beaten up stranger in and were taking care of her it was only fare right she sighed again and glanced back at him.

"..i..was hunting..Decepticons and Autobots.." she said his blue eye's shot from the window to look at her a frown showing on his face "the answer to the question of how i ended up like this..and i don't blame you for looking at me like that since it's a look i'v seen every morning when i got up and followed the orders i was given" she said.

"what do you mean by that?" James (optimus) asked her.

"i never cared for the orders i was given though hunting down decepticons that i could deal with but hunting Autbots..that's an other matter..it's just wrong how they were blamed for everything that happened over the years i know a lot of people were lost when the decepticons took over Chicago but..if it had't been for them we'd all be slaves to decepticons by now and in my book that's far worse" Katelyn said.

Optimus was taken back by what she said and it looked like Cade was right she was't all bad even though she had been ordered to hunt his kind she knew it was wrong and the look on her face as she spoke showed that greatly, also what he'd learned from Cade was that most people should be given a second chance just like Cade had done for Joshua even after all that he had done he had been good at heart and understood his mistake and helped to put thing's right again, and Katelyn was one of those people who was owed a second chance though there was one more thing he wanted to know.

"if you did't care for the orders you were given why follow them?" he asked.

"guess..i was trying to be a good solider and live up to everyone else in my family they all were in the army to..it could be hard at time's coming from a family like that but we were close like you guy's.. so i guess i did't want to let them down by going against my orders even if a knew they were wrong" she said.

"it's hard to live up to what's expected of you but i don't believe your family would think you let them down" he said.

"maybe your right..but i'll never have the chance to ask them" Katelyn said sadly her voice cracked a little and he put it down to mostly her having a dry throat.

"what do you mean by that Katelyn?" he asked.

"they died..my father died in the line of duty my brother the base he had been on got attacked he died from his injury's a few days later i got to say good bye to him before that happened he had been even more messed up than i am right now, and as for my mother well she had been sick for sometime but kept it hidden from me in till well it was to late to do anything about it all i could was just take care of her and enjoy the time's had had left with her that good bye was just as hard as saying good bye to my brother..ever since then i'v been on my own sure i had team mates to talk to though i rarely called anyone a friend guess i just got to used to being alone or afraid  that if i got to close to anyone i would lose them all over again" she said.

Optimus was quiet for a while he knew all to well that it was't easy losing family and a pain like that never went away or the fears of losing them over and over again which he had lived through, but he always had other's around to help make the pain and fear easier to deal with than going it alone and his spark broke a little for her and he did't blame her for jumping a little when he put his hand on her's but she calmed down quickly and she gave a smile and held his hand with what little strength she had and gave a slight smile back to him.

"losing those's you love is never easy Katelyn believe i know that better than most but..sometimes you can find other's that can help make the pain easier to deal with better than being alone right" he said.

"i guess so" she said back.

After a while Katelyn went to sleep even though he knew it was best to let her rest he did't leave the room instead he lent back in the chair watching her for the moment in case she woke or if she was in any pain then he could help her, but there was something else going through his head and that was how would she react when she found out who he and the other's really were ? though the thought of  her finding out did't worry him so much after talking to her but the truth could wait a little longer.

(Note: hay me again hope this chapter was ok just to let you know that there will be a time skip in the next chapter  so Katelyn wont be stuck in the bed for the whole story or banged up and during this time skip she's become closer with Optimus and the other's so it's sort of going to be from her pvo during the next chapter and the one after that she may find out who they really are i have't made my mind up yet but hope you like the story so far.)
