Hatter stormed down the dark hallway. Prison cells ran past her in a blur. She was only focusing on her destination. She took a right finding a lonely man in a dirty prison cell.

"How did you find me?" Hatter spoke darkly to the man.

"I didn't...Alice did. I asked her to take me here and she did." He said not bothering to look at her.

"Why would you even want to see me?" She spat. "All you did was ruin my life." She glared at him.

He took a sharp breath and stood up. He walked to the bars, wrapping his hands around them. He stared at her, hurt read his face, but you could also see anger. "You think I wanted to leave? You think I didn't want to have a life with you? You think I wouldn't come all this way because I love you?"

"We got married, you got me pregnant, then you left. What was I supposed to think?" She shot daggers at him. "Why did you leave anyway? Did you find someone else? Did you not want a family?" She was hurting. For just a moment you could see Hatter truly hurt.

She didn't care anymore. She didn't care about anything. All she new is what happened to her. He broke her heart, that's all. He is nothing but a lying, backstabbing, pretty boy who doesn't care about her feelings what so ever. He thinks he was just walk right back in and she would forgive him?

"Madelyn...please. You know I love you. I didn't even know you got pregnant! If I did know I would have tried harder to stay. I love you." He said, reaching his hand through the bars to cup her cheek.

"Then why didn't you try for me? Was I not important enough to you? Did you even love me?" She asked letting one single tear roll down her face.

"Madelyn, please. I was stupid, selfish, and ignorant. I never should have hurt you. Please give me another chance." He was begging now, reaching out for her.

Hatter moved her face close to his, she smiled slyly. "You had your chance. Now you will spend the rest of your pathetic life rotting away in this cell."

She turned to leave when he grabbed her hand. She yanked her hand out of his. She glared at him, but didn't move allowing him to say what he needed to say.

"I love you." He said with sorrow in his eyes.

"Funny, you said the same thing before you left." Hatter sneered.

She stormed away from the cell leaving him alone. He loved her, he loved her so much it pained him to see her like this. If she'd only known why he left. He needed to protect her. He fell by a wall and started to count the days until he would die. A lonely tear slipped down his face as he realized she would never love him again, like he loved her.
