A New Set Of Wings

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep* I hear a machine go off.

"Oh god! Please, my god! Please wake up!" I hear someone yell as my body starts to shake erratically.

"He's having a seizure right now! I think he might be waking up!" I hear another voice say

My body slowly calms down and I feel my breathing slow down.

Come on! Open your freaking eyes! I think to myself. My eyelids feel like they each way 1,000 pounds.

"He's opening his eyes!" I hear a voice say and my eyelids begin to flutter open.

"Taylor. It's Nash, Cameron, Matt, Jack, Jack, Shawn and Carter." I hear Nash say and I just stare at him.

"W-what h-happened?" I say startled, as i look at the numerous tubes pocking out of my arm.

"You don't remember?" Matt says and I shake my head no

"Well uh, see we were going to dinner with Ryland to meet One Direction. So we got there and some girl came up to us while we were eating and really upset Ryland. She ran out of the restaurant crying. You ran after her. Well uh, you were running across the street when uh- a car came and hit you. You went flying off the windshield and into the intersection. Y-you've been out f-for a month." Shawn says and I feel tears pouring down my face

"We stayed here every day, hoping and praying that you would wake up. They almost gave up on you, they were going to pull you off of support, but to lightly talk. It was a miracle." Jack says with tears in his eyes

"Th-thank you guys so much." I say fully crying

All the guys come and pile onto me.

"Where is she?" I say lightly and they all step back

"We don't uh know.." I hear Carter mumble something

"What?" I say

"Well after you got hit, Ryland left. She thought it was all her fault. She told us about what a hero you are and she'll be eternally grateful for you. She said she loved you. Well we tried to contact her, but it's as if she fell off the side of the earth." Carter says and I hold in my breath

"She didn't come to see me?" I say and the guys shake their head sadly

I feel my heart ache. The one girl I thought I loved, I barely knew her, but I already loved her. I shielded her with my life, for what? To be left.

She left me when I needed her the most.

"G-g-guys, w-why would she do that?" I say, feeling my throat begin to close

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

"Doctor! Help!" Cameron yells as I begin to shake again

I see numerous doctors and nurses rush in.

"He's going into shock! Get out of the room!" The doctor says pushing the boys out.

My eyes drift closed as waves of electrifying shocks strike through my body.

"Clear!" I hear someone yell

God, please let me live....

"Oh shit, oh shit. Please let him be okay!" The guys and I sob as we lean against the walls of the hospital

"Her. She did this!" Nash says and I look at him

"S-stop Nash. Just stop." i say looking through the window, seeing one of my best friends slowly die on a hospital bed.

Deep down inside I knew it was her fault, we all did.

"This can't be happening." Jack hiccups. I look at his blood shot eyes.

"Dude, come here." Jack Gilinsky says and embraces Jack in a large hug.

"No matter what, he'll always be here. He'll always be our best friend. He'll be with us. Whether it's down here or up there." Jack says and we all stare at him.

"God, please help Taylor. Save him. Please god. Save him."Jack says while he smuggles jack into a hug.

"It should have been me." Jack Johnson says while sobbing

"Don't say that. Don't say that man. He'll be fine Jack. I promise." Jack says, holding his best friend.

We all knew the truth though, each and everyone of us.

The sound of his voice, echoing throughout the empty halls of the hospital. The occasional wails of broken hearts, losing their loved ones.

I leaned my head against the wall and closed my eyes. Please say this is a dream.

I open my eyes. Revealing a teary eyed Shawn, holding his head between his hands.

This wasn't a dream, but my worst nightmare coming true.

"I had a dream." I finish off the last lyric of the song.

I look up and see the doctor walk out of the room with his head down..
