Jenson sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets. " So why did you want to speak to me Mari? Figured you were maybe mad at me from when I kissed you. Sorry about that by the way."

I shook my head." Nonono I'm not mad I know why you did that and I understand" I shrugged.

How on earth do I tell a guy my best friend has loved him since middle school. I figured I'd ease into it somehow. Or like I don't know. Try not to scare him away that's the main goal here.

" I also don't like you."

I narrowed my eyes at him." Gee thanks."

" I mean in the romantic way.... so if you're gonna like... I don't know confess..."

" NONONO" I jumped up." That's not what I'm doing! I swear!!" I sighed.

" Oh thank god" he sighed a bit." So what do you want?"

" Well I uh... Wanted to talk to you about two different things honestly." I looked over to him." First of all. Rory."

" What about her?" He said almost worried. The way he jumped up made it seem like he though she was hurt already.

I gave him a weird look which caused him to clear his throat and return to his usual emotionless expression.

" uh nothing don't worry!"I smiled a bit seeing this will be better than I thought." I just. Wanna know what you think of her" I smiled. " she's become my best friend since I came here."

He actually smiled." What can I say? I love her."

I was in complete awe from his smile and his words even I fumbled to find the right words to respond and I wasn't the one he said he loved.
" you.. you do?" I smiled wide.

He nodded." It's not like it's such a big secret. Me and my brothers have been friends with her for such a long time. They saw her as a sister someone they HAD to protect. I wanted to." He shrugged." But she's so independent and headstrong. Ever since the start of high school. She kinda just never needed me once she toughened up." He sighed.

I nearly shriked from excitement earning myself a bump on the head from him." Ow.."

" Chill out." He chuckled.

" sorry." I laughed and nodded." I'm just really happy to hear that... Rory looks up to you still though! She says she remembers every moment you were there for her."

He looked amazed." Are you serious..??"

I nodded." Dead serious."

I rolled around our tiny dorm room in the desk chair that was somehow not falling apart quite yet.

When I got back to the dorm I told Rory I had spoken to Jenson, But I left out huge details. I didn't say what we talked about. Just that I explained what was going on between me and Evan and the situation me and him were stuck in. Not being able to do anything due to fear. That did make me happy that he understood how I felt. He didn't just assume he could protect me. He knew how dangerous he was.

Rory bolted into the room suddenly." MARI WHAT DID YOU DO" She yelled. Her face flushed red but a wide smile on her face showed he happiness.

I grinned and spun around my chair with a shrug. " I don't know.Why?"

She stopped my chair and stared at me." I just got back with Jenson and holy... so much has happened." She spazzed out and sat in her own wheeley chair to spin around just as I was.

I put my head in my hand." Oh? What happened?" I grinned smugly pretending to not know.

" He said he needed help with math and like you know I'm not bad but not good so He asked me for help. and to be honest I was surprised he didn't ask you because your like hella smart." She rambled on and on about how she met up with him and how suspicious she was. " He took me to the back opening of the school where he normally hangs out... and he had a blanket laid out with all my favorite candy and snacks." She sighed happily." And he had his guitar out so he played the acoustics of my favorite songs. and Honestly that is the most private time Ive ever spent to him and he literally just now kissed me on the forehead good night." She let out a breath as she panted from how much she was rambling.
