Chapter 5
Calix's P.O.V.
Last night, Riley had decided that for our punishment we weren't allowed to use any electronics for a week. Aisling kept complaining that she needed her phone, but all Riley told her was that if it was something important she would let her know.
So that's why we're all sitting in the living room staring at the t.v. that we're not allowed to turn on.
"This is so boring," Ais huffed, glaring at the side of Riley's face, that was concentrated on her Candy Crush game.
"I can think of a few things we could do," winked Taislen. Aza hit the back of Taislen's head, earning a few choice words.
"Well you can come help me make dinner," Riley told her, ignoring Taislen and putting her phone away.
"Yeah right."
"I'll do it," I replied.
Everyone looked at me with surprised expressions, even Riley, but her face changed into a small smile.
"Sure Calix," she told me, "I was gonna make lasagna. Is that alright?"
"Yeah, that's fine with me," I said, following her into the kitchen.
Riley and I spent about an hour or so preparing the lasagna. We talked to each other, and told each other past experiences or stories. It surprised me how easy it was to talk to Riley.
"You're kidding!" Riley laughed.
"Nope. The monkey grabbed onto my hair and wouldn't let go. They had to call animal control to tranquilize him. It took 2 hours for them to come, and another hour just to put the monkey to sleep."
"So you've never let your hair grow long after that?"
"Hell no. I didn't want a monkey to grab onto my hair a second time," I told her, chuckling at the memory.
"Azie! Guys! Dinner is ready!" yelled Riley.
We heard a few shouts, shoves, and loud footsteps before everyone rushed into the kitchen to grab the food. The lasagna tasted great and there was no arguing while we ate. It was actually a peaceful dinner.
"What day is it?" Ais asked while getting situated back on the couch.
"Thursday, wh-shit," Riley gasped.
"What's wrong?" Z asked.
Riley ran out of the living room and came back looking at A's phone.
"I'm so sorry Azie, I forgot," Riley said, giving A back her phone.
Ais took her phone, got off the couch and grabbed her car keys.
"It's okay Ri. I'll be back by one."
"Wait, where the hell are you going?" Z asked her.
Turning around, A glared at Z, "None of your damn business."
"You're not going anywhere without us."
"Like hell I am. I'm a grown woman. I can do what I want."
"No you can't. Where are you going, huh? To meet up with the gang you're in?"
"You should be talking!" Z stopped talking.
"What do you mean by that A?" I asked.
She turned her glare on me, "I know Calix. I've know for years. Did you guys think that I was that stupid?"
The whole room was quiet. Either no one wanted to say anything, or they didn't know what to say.
"Whatever you think you know-"
