Riptide stood beside his mate, pacing worriedly as she held a lump of algae in her mouth to muffle the sounds of her screaming. Tsunami's eyes were glazed with pain and determination, as if she already knew that all of her pain would be worth it in the end.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, a single egg was laid inside of Tsunami's seaweed nest. She looked at it incredulously.

"Seriously? After all that work, I only lay one egg?" Riptide chuckled weakly beside her.

"Would you rather want to go through the experience more, my love?" As he expected, Tsunami instantly shut her mouth. She gazed at her egg with love, and curled around it protectively, as if afraid that it would disappear. And, with Riptide helping, attended to it for an entire year.

One Year Later

"Riptide!" Tsunami shrieked." Get down here!" In a flash, the leader of the Talons of Peace was in the cave by the ocean that they shared.

"What's wrong?!" He demanded.

"The egg is hatching!" Tsunami declared. They watched in a silent fascination as their navy blue egg split apart, to reveal, two dragonets?!

"Three moons!" Riptide gasped." We have twins! What should we name them?" He gave his mate a toothy grin as he intertwined his tail with hers.

"I want the male to be named Salt, while the female is named Reef. As a token to my mother." Riptide frowned a bit at the "token to my mother" part, but decided that it was best for two reasons. A) it was best not to get Tsunami mad and B) because if Queen Coral ever discovered that they had hidden her grandchildren from her, it might help to soothe her rage.

"Those are wonderful names," Riptide agreed. And for now, they enjoyed the feeling of being one big, happy family.
