How am I going to do this? Tsunami thought to herself as her friends gathered around her. I can't exactly say 'Hey guys! Guess what? I had eggs with Riptide and never told you because I didn't trust you!'
"So, Tsunami?" Starflight asked." What is it you want to tell us?"
Well, there's no use beating around the bush She realized. Tsunami took a deep breath, and spoke.
"AroundtwoandahalfyearsagoihadeggswithRiptide.Momwouldkillusifsheknewsohe'sraisingthem.IneedtoleaveschoolforawhilesoIcanvisitthem!" Everyone blinked.
"I'm sorry, what?" Clay asked. Tsunami shuffled one her feet nervously.
"I said, around two and a half years ago I had eggs with Riptide. Mom would kill us so he's raising them. I need to leave school for a while so I can visit them!"
For a moment, everyone just stood there. Then, Sunny spoke.
"But, why would you need to hide this from Coral, she has grand dragonets now!" Tsunami, regrettably, lost her temper.
"Think, Sunny! A traitor and the SeaWing Queen's oldest daughter, having eggs?! The kingdom would be in an uproar, and my mother's rage would be unquenchable!" she snapped. Glory glared at Tsunami.
"You should have trusted us!" she spat." Don't you dare lose your temper at one of us!" Tsunami whipped around to face her friend.
"You think it was easy?!" she shrieked." You don't think that I've wanted to tell you all this time?! Every day has been a struggle! You have no idea what it's like to be torn between you friends and family!" At her words, the group shut up. Clay put a comforting wing around Tsunami.
"Don't worry, we'll be sure to cover for you. Go visit your children, your mate! When was the last time you saw them?" Tsunami felt her eyes tear up.
"Nine months ago," she murmured softly. The group's anger melted instantly. Even Glory, who had been furious, felt badly about how she'd acted.
"Bond with them," she advised." Then, when they're old enough, bring them to Jade Mountain so they can meet their aunts and uncles." Tsunami looked at her friend, surprised. Then, she smiled. To their shock, it was soft and warm, full of love. Not cocky and arrogant.
"Hold one little Salt, little Reef," she said." Your mother is coming home!" The dragons smiled at her words. But Fatespeaker was also relieved; no mother should have to be seperated from her dragonets, and vice versa. And with that, Tsunami took off, elated.
