Tsunami blinked her eyes open to see the cold grey walls of Jade Mountain Academy. She stood up, ignoring the disappointment that she felt in her heart. The sadness of not being with her mate and children. Not having little Salt and Reef scuttling over her desperately as they begged her to play tag early in the morning.
She sighed and shook her head; thinking such thoughts would only distract her and make her more miserable, she had a school to run. Aloofly, Tsunami walked down the halls of her academy, heading straight towards the teachers lounge. She felt a tap on her shoulder as Fatespeaker, Starflight's mate, threw her a quick glance.
"Good morning, Tsunami," she greeted, a smile that put Sunny to shame etched across her face.
"Morning Fatespeaker," Tsunami replied." You seem awfully happy today, what's the occasion?" Fatespeaker blinked for a moment before bouncing in her feet a couple of times.
"I just found out that I'm expecting Starflight's eggs!" She said happily. Tsunami stopped walking. It felt as if a thorn had pierced her heart, at the mention of parenthood; it reminded Tsunami of her own dragonets. The ones she didn't spend nearly enough time with. She shook off her envy and bitterness. She should be happy for Fatespeaker and Starflight!
"Wow!" She grinned." Congratulations!" Fatespeaker laughed happily as they arrived at their destination.
"Come on," she urged." I can't wait to see everyone's faces when I tell them the news!"
